PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE πŸ’– PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE πŸ’–

πŸ‘‹ Hello Bobcat Families,

Bobcats are...FAMILY!

One of our "Big Moves" this year as a part of our ReDesign Plan is to:

Create Community with Felicita Families! πŸŽ‰πŸ‘

On Friday, we deployed our 1st official Families session in our multi-age learning communities that we have been practicing for! The halls were buzzing! Students were so excited to be at school, they are establishing new relationships, and our big kids got the opportunity to lead our littles through it all. It was so precious to see. πŸ’—

I am looking forward to implementing some of our other Big Moves. Stay tuned!

PBIS GOLD AWARD πŸ… PBIS GOLD AWARD πŸ…

Felicita was just awarded the PBIS Gold Award!

What is PBIS?

PBIS is an evidence-based framework for schools to promote positive student behaviors and provide effective support systems for social, emotional, and behavioral needs.

What a Gold Award signifies:

  • Sustainability: The school demonstrates that its PBIS implementation is long-lasting.

  • Positive Impact: There are proven, measurable, positive effects on student discipline data and overall academic achievement.

  • Exemplary Practices: The school goes "above and beyond" in embedding PBIS strategies at every level of the school.

  • Continuous Improvement: The award reflects a commitment to ongoing improvement and student success within the PBIS framework.

To help continue this work we will be administering the Social, Academic, Emotional, Behavior Risk Screener (SAEBRS) starting September 29th.

What is SAEBRS?

SAEBRS stands for the "Social, Academic, and Emotional Behavior Risk Screener." It is a tool used in schools to help educators quickly and effectively screen students for potential risks related to their social-emotional well-being. This will allow us to support students with great resources!

ATTENDANCE MATTERS βœ… ATTENDANCE MATTERS βœ…

Our school-wide attendance goal is 94%, and thanks to you, we are at 94.9% so far this yearβ€”way to go, Bobcat Families! πŸŽ‰

Regular student attendance plays a critical role in our collective mission to ensure every student achieves their fullest potential.

Why Attendance Should Be a Top Priority:

  1. Academic Achievement: Regular attendance is fundamental to student success. Each school day is a building block in the learning process. Consistent attendance helps students keep up with coursework, understand key concepts, and perform better academically.

  2. Social and Emotional Development: School is a place where students develop crucial social skills and emotional resilience. Frequent absences can hinder their ability to form strong relationships with peers and teachers, impacting their overall development.

  3. Future Opportunities: Consistent attendance is linked to higher graduation rates and better long-term outcomes, including higher education and career prospects. By prioritizing attendance, we are directly contributing to students' future success.

  4. School Culture: Regular attendance fosters a positive school culture and enhances the learning environment for everyone. It creates a sense of community and ensures that all students have equal access to the resources and support they need.
