SCS Peek at the Week
November 2 - November 6

From The Main Office
Dear SCS,
β° Sunday, November 1st (at 2am) is the end of Daylight Savings Time. Don't forget to fall back an hour.
β HB 1300 requires voters to consider a school tax-cap question on the November 3, 2026, general election ballot. To help families better understand the legislation and the upcoming ballot question, I am sharing an informational video developed by the school district. Learn more about HB 1300 here.
𧀠The mornings sure do feel like winter, so it seems like a good time to send home our Outdoor Clothing Guidelines again. We try to get students outside everyday; as long as it is above zero we are braving the weather. Your help in making sure students have appropriate clothing is appreciated. Do you need help with winter gear? Let Ms. Knoll, Ms. Keith or Ms. Cook know.
πΊ Veterans Day Observance: You are cordially invited to attend the Sutton Central Elementary School for a Veterans Day Assembly on Monday, Nov. 9, 2026, at 2:00 pm in the multi-purpose room. Please wear red, white and blue.
π You should have received an email last week from the district letting you know there is an additional form in PowerSchool you need to fill out. This new media release form is a new required form, so please complete it as soon as possible.
π΅ We are so excited to welcome this year's Artist-in-Residence Luke Concannon. Luke Concannon is a celebrated folk singer-songwriter best known for his #1 U.K. hit, βJCB,β recorded with his duo, Nizlopi. On November 2 and 16, Luke will work with students during their music classes, inspiring them to discover their unique gifts, explore their creativity, and recognize their potential to make a positive difference in the world through music.
πΏ The cooler weather is a reminder that winter is just around the corner. And with winter comes SCS' Winter Program. Sutton Centralβs Winter Program allows students to get active in our winter months, connect with staff in new ways, and build a love and appreciation for all that New England has to offer. We are asking all families to sign up by October 31st for their winter activity using this Google Form.
In partnership,
Lisa
