Message From the Principals

Hello MHE Families,

We hope everyone is having a great start to the school year! As a reminder, please try to refrain from calling the office after 2:45pm with transportation changes! It gets very busy at the end of the day and we want to make sure that all of our children get home safely! Also, please know that the main office is not able to accept cash of any kind anymore. All fees and lunch money must be paid and added through Infinite Campus. Please be sure to review all the information below and feel free to reach out with any questions that you may have.

Have a great one!

Mr. Rischmann & Mr. Whitaker

September Attendance Incentive

Dear Parents and Guardians,

We’re excited to share a fun new attendance incentive we’re introducing for the month of September! To encourage students to come to school on time each day, we’ve created a simple and engaging way for them to track their attendance by coloring in an apple for every day they arrive on time.

Each student will receive a September Apple Tracker, and for every day they are present and on time, they’ll get to color in an apple. This tracker will stay at home, and we encourage you to hang it somewhere visible, like on the refrigerator, so your child can take pride in filling it out daily. Additionally, students will have a class Apple Tree hanging outside their classroom to celebrate collective attendance.

This visual tool helps students take ownership of their attendance, stay motivated, and build consistent habits. At the end of the month, the class in each grade level with the strongest attendance will be recognized with a special reward!

We truly appreciate your support in encouraging your child to arrive on time each day. Together, we can help them start the school year strong!

If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out.

Building Information

  • Student arrival is daily between 8:30am and 8:50am. MHE staff supervision is not available before 8:30am. Students that arrive after 8:50am will be marked tardy.
  • Y's Kids morning and after school care is available through Clippard YMCA (513-923-4466)
  • Please refrain from dropping your student off in the main parking lot between 8:30am - 8:50am. This lot is for bus drop off only.
  • If you plan on having your child eat school breakfast, please try to have them here closer to 8:30am. All students that arrive at school after 9am will be asked to get their breakfast from the cafeteria and report to their class to eat. TEACHING WILL BEGIN AT 9AM!
  • Please refrain from picking your student up in the main office between 3:25-3:45. Parent pick up is at the back gate using your car tag. The front lot is for bus loading only.
  • If you are in need of a car tag, please see Mr. Smith in the main office. If you do not have a car tag, you must have a photo ID AND be listed in the student's file as authorized to pick up.
  • Breakfast and Lunch are both FREE this year! If however, you would like to have your child(ren)’s school instructional fees waived, you must submit an Educational Benefits or Household Income survey to determine fee waiver eligibility. You may complete the survey through the Infinite Campus parent portal.
  • Additional items can be purchased using funds that have been added to student accounts. (Snack/chip bags and ice cream are $1.25, cookies are $.90 or $.70, and fruit-roll-ups are $.75) CASH IS NOT ACCEPTED IN THE CAFETERIA.
  • Please do not send your child in the morning with coffee drinks or breakfast items from fast food locations (McDonalds, Starbucks, Dunkin, etc.). Students do need to finish these things before coming into school and should not be bringing them to class or the cafeteria.
  • Please do not drop fast food off to students in the middle of the day. In the event of this, your child will be asked to eat in the office instead of with their class in the cafeteria.

Kindergarten Lunch Help

Kindergarten parents, we need your help!! Please try to send food that is easy for your student to open at lunch time. There are multiple adults in the cafeteria to help Kindergarteners, but it makes everything run much smoother for your kiddo if they are able to open lunch items and start eating right away. Please also look at the school lunch menu attached. If your child doesn't like what is being served for lunch you may want to pack that day. We promise we will continue to do our best and encourage students to eat, but we cannot force them and we do have limited options. Thank you so much for your help with this! Please feel free to reach out to your student's teacher if you have any questions or concerns.

Time for MUMKINS!!!

Mumkin fundraiser launches August 19th - FRIDAY, September 5th, 2025! Back to school time is here which means fall is right around the corner. Let your friends, family and neighbors know the students of MHE will be selling mums again this fall. All proceeds go directly back to the school with staff and student initiatives.
