Time: 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. (VUCPTA Association meeting is 6:00-6:30pm)
Location: Vista Innovation Center (VIC), Multi-Purpose Room, 836 Olive Avenue
VUSD families are invited to join us for a Community Collaboration focused on the Family Campaign portion of the Tech Time Review. Hosted by VUCPTA, this workshop is open to all VUSD families. During this interactive workshop, families will share ideas and work together to help shape the Family Campaign. The campaign will provide families with practical, accessible resources that support healthy technology habits, responsible use of AI and social media, and creative screen-free activities that encourage imagination, play, conversation, and connection. We hope you will bring your experiences, creativity, and ideas to help us design a campaign that is genuinely useful for VUSD families.
You Are Invited to Our Tech Time Review Parent and Community Forums
Dates: October 20; November 4; December 10
Time: 5:30 to 7:00 p.m.
Location: Vista Innovation Center (VIC), Multi-Purpose Room, 836 Olive Avenue
October 20: Empathy and Understanding. We will deepen our collective understanding by hearing what students, families, teachers, and staff are experiencing. We will also examine the benefits, concerns, research, and practical realities surrounding different types of technology use at different ages.
November 4: Synthesis and Ideation. We will bring together what we have learned and identify what VUSD should protect, change, create, or clarify. Participants will help develop potential recommendations and language for a new VUSD Board policy and Administrative Regulation.
December 10: Prototype and Feedback. Earlier that week, students serving on the Superintendent’s Council for Innovative Learning will review a draft Board policy proposal. At this forum, we will share the proposal, share what we heard from the students, and gather final community feedback before preparing the policy for the School Board’s first reading in January.
COLOR RUN
The Color Run is on November 6 at 3:45. Join us on the VIDA Field to support ASB's annual fundraiser. Funds raised will benefit spirit days, giveaways, dances, and more!

VIDA Parking Lot Plan (Updated on 8/28/26)
Thank you for cooperating in the parking lot to make drop off and pick up safe for everyone. Please continue to pull all the way forward, have your Shark meet you towards the south end of the lot, fill in parking spaces and the lanes if you arrive early. We want to keep traffic flowing to ensure safety for all.
Pro Tip: Come 15 to 20 minutes after the bell rings for quick and easy pick up and to help with the flow of traffic.
In order to ensure the safe drop off and pick up for VIDA students, families, and staff, we've created a plan and wanted to share it with you! Please CLICK HERE for more information.

DENTAL SERVICES FOR STUDENT
A+ Teeth, a school-based cavity prevention program offered by Vista Community Clinic. VCC provides visual dental assessment, fluoride varnish application, sealant(s), and referrals for treatment if needed. This dental assessment does not replace a regular dental checkup but can save families time with these services being offered at school.
If you would like your student to participate, please fill out the Consent Form.

North County Bus Services (NCTD)
North County Transit is going the extra mile to offer a new transportation choice in Vista.
NCTD+ provides shared rides within a service zone. The service is available to all riders and uses ADA accessible vans that can seat up to eight passengers. How it works is that students download the app or call the number listed and if they're within the designated zone, they'll be picked/dropped off to the pre-designated destination (within the designated zone) or to the closest city bus stop or station. It's free to all youth 18 and under and all they need is either a PRONTO Card (also available for free), or their current Student ID or Government Issued ID.
AM-PM PROGRAM
Bike Education.
Purpose: To educate our students, staff, and families about bike, skateboard, and scooter safety as well as the rules of the road in order to keep everyone safe on our streets.
Ride to School Permit Information
Middle and high school students who are riding their bike/e-bike, skateboard or scooter to school, need to attend a 1 hour training session to obtain a permit sticker. If you attended one of these sessions in a previous school year and already received a permit, you do not need to take the course again. Once students complete the one hour training session, the acknowledgement sheet needs to be signed and returned (copies are available in the front office at each school). Then the permit sticker will be sent to the student's school site with more information. If you have any questions, please contact Taresa McSpadden taresamcspadden@vistausd.org.
