Principal's Message

Good morning and happy Friday!

Our school-wide kindness campaign continues to grow in such a positive and inspiring way! Each time a student or staff member is recognized for showing kindness, respect, inclusion, or helping others, we add another paper chain link to our kindness chain. We are excited to share that the chain is now almost reaching all the way around the school! It has become a daily visual reminder that small acts of kindness truly make a big impact in creating a safe, welcoming, and supportive school community for everyone. Thank you for continuing to encourage kindness at home and for partnering with us as we help our students learn the importance of caring for others each and every day

Sincerely, Lacey Macdonald

Electric Scooters/Bikes

As the weather gets nicer, we are seeing more students riding electric and gas-powered scooters and bikes to school. We want to remind families that many of these vehicles are not legal for elementary-aged students to operate under Oregon bike and motor vehicle laws. More importantly, we have observed several unsafe behaviors including excessive speed, riding without helmets, and unsafe choices near traffic and other students. For the safety of all children, we ask that elementary students do not ride electric or gas-powered scooters or bikes to school. Thank you for your partnership in helping keep our students safe each day. Please see the graphic for the laws on electric/gas scooters and bikes.

Jog A Thon

The Jog-A-Thon is coming up on May 15th. If you are interested in coming to observe or volunteer you will need to be registered as a visitor or volunteer before you can come on campus during school hours. It is a requirement of Springfield Public Schools that all visitors and volunteers register before entry during school hours. We do this to protect our students during the school day. Please call the office if you are not sure if your information is already in our system. Thank you for helping us help keep your students safe!
