We’re thrilled to welcome our students and families to a brand-new school year! As we kick off September, we’re recommitting to one of the simplest, most powerful habits for learning: reading together. Just 15–20 minutes of reading at home—out loud, side-by-side, or taking turns—builds vocabulary, confidence, and a lifelong love of learning.

This year, our staff is excited to pour love into your child and to challenge them to be their very best. In each newsletter, we’ll spotlight what’s happening around our school—classroom highlights, upcoming events, and celebrations—and share practical resources so families can grow a strong growth mindset at home.

Try this at home:

• Set a cozy daily reading time and stick to it.

• Ask “growth mindset” questions: What did you try today? What mistake helped you learn?

• Talk about books—favorite parts, new words, and connections to real life.

• September 9th: RES Open House @ 4:30 PM
• September 15th: Bible Club Begins (Contact Robin at Antioch if interested)
• September 23rd: No School for Students, Mandatory Workday for Teachers

Mark your calendars for our first Panther Party of the year, October 17th from 3:00 - 5:00pm.

*Panther Parties are held after school, and to be eligible to attend, students must have paid all dues or turned in all past library books. Please look for a permission form to come home soon!

NC Elementary Testing is the last month of the school year. Please be mindful and do not schedule any vacations or appointments during this window of time.
