The Peotone Music Program News

Join us for our final full-school Peotone concerts of the year this May! It’s a wonderful opportunity to celebrate all the hard work and musical growth our students have achieved. The concert begins at 7:00 PM, with doors opening at 6:45 PM. We’d love to see you there to support our amazing young musicians!

It's crazy to think that we are almost at the end of the school year! A reminder that the end of the year Six Flags trip is coming up on May 17th. Permission slips and information were sent home with students last week. A reminder that permission slips and money are due to your school's office by MONDAY!

Thank you to all the chaperones that are willing to help with the day. It really makes the process of everything go so much smoother!

1) If you could not attend the meeting last Tuesday but are interested in receiving details about the trip, BOTH PARENT and STUDENT NEED TO JOIN the "New York City 2026 Tour" Google Classroom page.

The student needs to join first, then the parent can join the class. Please reach out if you need assistance. Joining the Google Classroom does not commit you in any way! The code for your student to join is: yimp24hf

2) Here is a doc with some highlights and updates from the meeting. DEADLINE TO REGISTER for the tour is April 30th!!

If you know a 4th or 5th grade student who’s excited about music and interested in joining band, this is the perfect time to get started!

On April 29, students will have the chance to try out a variety of band instruments during the school day with guidance from Mr. Stefans, myself, and representatives from Quinlan & Fabish. Each student will receive personalized feedback and results, which will be sent home the very next day.

Then, mark your calendar for Band Registration Night on Thursday, May 7, from 5:30–6:30 PM at Peotone Intermediate Center! Families will fill out a contact form, receive help choosing the best instrument fit, and get information on how to rent or purchase all necessary materials through Quinlan & Fabish. It’s a fun and informative evening designed to ensure every student has a great start in band at PIC, PJHS, PHS, and beyond!

If you're interested in a Band Leadership role and want to help improve the program while giving students a stronger voice next year, please fill out the form below. Leadership positions are available both in the High School and Junior High and the descriptions are provided in the form below. Please make sure you are filling this out for what grade you will be in next year.

Applications are due on April 25th by midnight. Please make sure you are reviewing and answering all questions provided.

Thanks to the Peotone Fine Arts Boosters who put on the Prom Resale at PHS on Saturday! If you did not get a chance to come and shop, they will host this event again next year. We appreciate the support of the Peotone FAB!

The last FAB meeting of this school year will be on Tuesday, May 20 at 5:30pm in the PHS band/choir room. If you are not able to attend the meeting but want to help out at the next fundraiser, please send email to peotonefab@gmail.com
