2 Weeks until EOGs
Push toward the EOG Summit
Only TWO weeks are remaining until End-of-Grade (EOG) assessments and we have another busy week in the Tiger Den. Please make sure that your students arrive on time each day so that they do not miss any end-of-year review sessions or assessments. This week, students will have PE and media for specials. Some of our students in grades 2-5 received letters about Summer Camp opportunities. If you have any questions, please contact Principal Batten (jbatten@vcs.k12.nc.us; 252-590-0595). Summer Camp registration deadline is Friday, May 24th.
This week, we also continue conducting our yearly inventory of media and technology. Last week we inventoried and re-checked out laptops (and chargers) for most grades. Some students, especially in the 4th & 5th grades still have laptops left at home. Please make sure that your students return:
- library books,
- laptops (laptops should be brought to school daily!),
- chargers, and
- Kajeets (wireless connection devices).
Families can help students prepare for end-of-year assessments by reviewing past assignments, vocabulary, and released Gr3-5 EOG tests: https://bit.ly/ReleasedEOGtests
I am thankful to the students, families, and staff who work collaboratively to help our students grow and succeed. Please continue to encourage your children to read at least 20 minutes each night. It truly takes a village and Tigers will CLIMB together. Let's have an amazing week focusing on academics and PAWsitive behaviors.
