We are a 'B' rated campus!
We are thrilled to share some outstanding news about our school! The official Texas Education Agency (TEA) academic ratings were released today, and Hillcrest High School is officially a B-rated campus with an overall score of 88.3!
This score represents incredible progress for our Panthers. We improved by 3 full points from last year and are now just 1.2 points away from achieving an A rating!
Additionally, Hillcrest was awarded 4 Academic Distinctions in key subject areas:
English Language Arts / Reading
Mathematics
Science
Social Studies
This achievement is a direct result of the hard work of our students, the dedication of our amazing teachers, and your continued partnership and support at home.
While we are super proud of this milestone, our journey doesn't stop here. We are more confident than ever that Hillcrest has everything in place to reach an A rating next.
Thank you for being such an essential part of our panther family and supporting our school community every day. Destination: Excellence is in full effect!

This year, to streamline communication, we decided to make a one-stop-shop for all things Hillcrest "The Heart of Hillcrest". This site will help guide parents on what is going on at Hillcrest and who to contact for various questions. This site will be upgraded regularly.
When our new website administrators are trained, we will also update our website with the same information.
The goal is to have the same information in three different platforms to make it readily accessible.

Registration for 26-27 - Current and New Students Must Register
Clinic Updates: Parental Consent for School Health-Related Services
The 89th Texas Legislature passed Senate Bill 12 (SB 12), which requires school districts to obtain written permission from a parent/guardian before providing health-related services to an individual’s child. A school district can only provide life-saving care without written consent. To provide all other health-related services the child’s parent/guardian must check “Yes” and sign the Parental Consent for School Health-Related Services form.
To complete the parental consent form, you must complete your child's annual registration in SchoolMint. The form is embedded within the registration.

How to check-out a student who drives
Email Ms. Balderas at hillcresths@dallasisd.org with a written note that the students needs to be checked-out, the reason, and at what time. In addition, a photo ID of the requester needs to be attached to the email. This is to verify the requester has the legal authority to check out the student.
Hillcrest Celebrations
Mr. Champion going “Above and Beyond” award
Mr. Champion is entering his second year as a high school lead custodian, and his growth and leadership have continued to improve each year. This summer at Hillcrest, his campus was fully occupied with summer programs. As a result, he and his staff could only complete summer cleaning in unoccupied areas and then clean behind each program as spaces became available.
Despite these challenges, Mr. Champion willingly took on additional summer projects and assisted several other campuses with their cleaning efforts, including Dealey Middle School, Ben Franklin Middle School, Kramer Elementary, Kimball High School, Sunset Field House, and others.
While supporting these campuses, Mr. Champion and his team still completed Hillcrest by the deadline. Their teamwork, flexibility, and commitment demonstrate the true meaning of going above and beyond.
Congratulations, Mr. Champion, and thank you for your outstanding leadership and dedication.
