Fire Safety Day at Pierce School...
Thank You, Bennington Fire Department!
Students had a fantastic trip to the Bennington Fire Department! Thank you!!
Thank You for Attending Open House!
Open House had a wonderful showing last night! Thank you to all the families who came to school and spent time in your student's classroom and travelled throughout the building for a tour/passport adventure. We were thrilled to see all the families and meet some new faces! Please reach out if you need any support or resources throughout the year, or if you couldn't attend Open House and have questions that are still unanswered.
We also want to give a huge thank you to all of our partner organizations and individuals who were able to come support our school last night. Some of the notable shout outs go to Denise McLenon from the SAU for providing fingerprinting onsite, Carol Lunan from the Grapevine, Leslie McGregor from the GEP Dodge Library, Tanisha Lowell to represent the Pierce School PTO, Melinda Adams who will be the faciliator of the Pierce School Ski Club, Olivia Clark from the Cornucopia Gardening Program, 68 Hours of Hunger informational brochures. We continue to partner with other organizations to bring programming and clubs into the school community, so if you are interested in contributing, please reach out to Principal Alisha Hansen-Proulx at ahansen@conval.edu for more information.
Additionally, I want to thank the staff at Pierce School, because they make each day memorable for students and colleagues. The care and compassion put forth on a daily basis is commendable, and each educator is dedicated to ensuring that students know they are cared about, and have what they need to be successful. Thank you to all the staff at Pierce School!

The Golden Spoon Luncheon Winners, 10/11
Congratulations to our Golden Spoon luncheon winners this week! Every week, students who demonstrate expectated behaviors in the lunchroom from Monday to Thursday are invited to a special lunch on the stage and receive a golden spoon as the invitation, for doing the right thing at lunch through the week.
Expected behaviors in the lunchroom:
- Raise a quiet hand to get up or get something
- Keep a low level voice, not yelling
- When a teacher says, "Show 5", students stop talking, focus attention on the teacher, and put a high five in the air to show they are listening to directions
- Sit at the table to eat lunch and have a safe body at the table
These are the expected behaviors that will earn students a golden spoon invitation to a decorated table on the stage on Fridays. A different teacher will sign up to host the luncheon each Friday. We hope all students will attend the Golden Spoon Luncheon!
