Trunk or Treat
Our annual Trunk or Treat was a huge success! The students and staff had an amazing time enjoying all the creative trunks, costumes, and Fall fun.
A big thank-you to our families. Events like these bring our school community together, create lasting memories, and remind us what it means to belong. We are so grateful for the families who help make AGCS such a special place!

Chromebook Safety & Responsible Technology Use
At AGCS, we are committed to partnering with parents and guardians to help keep students safe and responsible when using technology. As students become more independent with their devices, it is important that we work together to reinforce safe, respectful, and appropriate technology use both at school and at home.
A few important reminders:
School Property: Chromebooks are school property and are provided for educational purposes. Students are expected to use their devices responsibly and follow all school technology guidelines.
Student Monitoring: Student activity on school-issued Chromebooks is monitored whenever the device is in use. Administrators receive alerts across several categories, including violence, racism and hate speech, bullying, sexual content, substances, and risk behaviors. Each category includes different risk levels, and alerts are reviewed as appropriate to determine whether follow-up or additional support may be needed. Inappropriate use of a Chromebook may result in consequences, and continued misuse may lead to additional disciplinary action in accordance with school policies. Our goal is to identify potential concerns, reinforce responsible technology use, and provide support when needed.
Digital Citizenship: Online choices matter. Students need to understand that searches, messages, comments, and images can have real-world consequences, even when they believe their activity is private. We encourage families to talk with their children about making responsible decisions, communicating respectfully, protecting personal information, and reporting anything they see online that makes them feel uncomfortable or unsafe.
Family Partnership: While AGCS monitors activity on school-issued Chromebooks whenever the device is in use, school monitoring does not replace the supervision and guidance of parents and guardians. When students are using their devices under your care, we ask that you take an active role in overseeing their technology use, establishing clear expectations, and regularly discussing online safety. Your involvement is essential in helping students make responsible choices, recognize potential risks, and develop healthy digital habits.
Bus Expectations: Chromebooks should not be used on the bus. Students are expected to keep their devices put away during transportation.
Our goal is not simply to monitor technology use, but to help students recognize potential risks, make responsible choices, and seek help when needed. When concerns arise, monitoring can provide an opportunity for us to offer guidance and support. By working together, we can help students use technology in ways that protect their safety, support their learning, and promote their well-being.
Thank you for your continued partnership in keeping our students safe!
Recess
While we patiently wait for our new recess area and play structure, we will continue to enjoy recess in the side parking lot! At the beginning of the year, we purchased a variety of equipment for students to enjoy, and after lots of use, some items are showing wear and tear.
During our Back-to-School Nights, a few families suggested creating a wishlist of recess equipment, and we thought that was a wonderful idea! If you would like to help replenish our supplies and give our students more options for outdoor play, we would be so grateful for your support.
4-6 Homework Expectations
Why are we focusing on homework?
Our goal is to help students build strong executive functioning skills, including time management, organization, and personal accountability. These skills will support students as they take on greater independence and prepare for the next steps in their educational journey.
