State of the School: Dwelling in Possibility at St. Luke’s
Last week, we gathered as a community for our annual State of the School Address—an opportunity to reflect on where we are, celebrate what makes St. Luke’s special, and look ahead with hope and purpose. The message was clear and resounding: the state of St. Luke’s Episcopal School is strong, and our future is filled with possibility.
The evening opened with a reflection on Emily Dickinson’s line, “I dwell in Possibility,” paired with the words of Jesus in John 10:10: “I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly.” Together, these ideas capture who we are as a school. At St. Luke’s, abundant life means more than academic success—it means forming the whole child, mind, heart, and spirit, so students grow into young people of purpose, compassion, courage, and joy.

CONGRATS - 5th & 6th Grade Girls Basketball
Tigers Have a Winning Weekend!
The 5th and 6th grade Lady Tiger basketball teams made us all so proud on Saturday!
The 6th grade, in a defensive battle that showed the hallmark grittiness of this team, came from behind in the last two minutes. A short jumper and a free throw, both by Hazel with just seconds to go, sealed the victory for the Tigers, which put them in the SACS Championship. Once again showing Tiger grit, the team was able to cut an 8-point halftime deficit to 4. However, despite working to get some really good looks at the basket, the team fell just short. It was a pleasure watching these girls leave it all out on the court this year.
The 5th grade team cruised to a 20 point Semifinal victory before facing the only team that had defeated the girls the season in the Championship game. Despite being down 8 points at half, the girls, equipped with that Tiger never quit attitude, held their opponents to only 2 points in the second half. Ellie hit a shot at the buzzer to send the game to overtime. The Lady Tigers outscored their opponents 6-0 in overtime to take home the SACS Championship!
Besides the girls' effort, determination and talents being on display, so was the St. Luke's community. Parents, alums, classmates, teachers, administrators, and even our mascot, showed up to support the teams. Thank you, St. Luke's, for showing up to support our Lady Tigers!
Lastly, a HUGE Thank you to our coaches - Coach Alex, Coach Juan, and Coach Cortinas - for their leadership all season long. The success this season would not be possible without all that you do.
