Friday, November 15th is our next PTA General Membership meeting at 8:15AM. Janel Rodriguez, who founded Forever 15 Project after losing her son to an accidental Fentanyl overdose, will be our guest speaker. Her impactful story, Fentanyl: The Noah Rodriguez Story, is important to hear so you can be informed. This was one of our best attended meetings last year, so please be sure to RSVP to have your badge pre-printed, or allow time for an ID scan if this is your first time on campus. You can also let your voice be heard by suggesting future PTA Meeting Topic Ideas that you'd like to learn more about. RSVP for the meeting and suggest topics through our SSMS PTA Linktree: https://linktr.ee/SSMSPTA
If you havenβt joined PTA yet, we welcome you to support SSMS students and staff! The Yeti membership drawing will happen at the November meeting! Please share ideas, concerns, and experiences to make the school year better for everyone. Go to joinpta.org to join.
SSMS still needs our wonderful workroom volunteers - take this opportunity to see a little behind the scenes action and present our teachers with the gift of time with their students (our children!) and their families by signing up on the date(s) of your choice on our LinkTree. Thank you and please don't hesitate to contact us at volunteers@ssmspta.org if you have any questions, comments, or ideas!
We are planning two additional informational meetings this year for our community to learn more about what we're doing this year, ask questions, and listen to a presenter. We want to hear from YOU to determine when these meetings should take place and what topics you want to hear about! Please fill out this Google Form to let us know your thoughts!
The SSMS PTA is offering a new way to see our school in action! In an effort to increase family engagement, we will be doing parent-to-parent campus tours to give you a firsthand view of what our students and teachers do each and every day - sign up here!
Be sure to Like and Follow our Facebook and Instagram - we post information and updates daily, and weβll show up more often in your feed the more you react to the posts!

Toys For Tots
JROTC Student Led Military Club proudly partners with Toys for Tots and the Marine Corps to help raise toys and money for Austin children. We are grateful for the support of all the schools in DSISD and the many local businesses and neighborhoods who host boxes and promote this great cause.
Host locations will collect toys from Oct 1 - Dec 1 and then military club students will collect all the toys and organize them at the high school. The Marines will pick them up in the first week of December and distribute them to families in need throughout the month of December.
How to Help
There are so many ways you can help Austin Toys for Tots this year!
Bring a new, unwrapped toy to any Dripping Springs Toy Drop location!
Save the date for Nov 11th, from 10-1, and swing by the Jolly Jamboree hosted at Caliterra
Host a box or event at your business!
Ask family and friends to bring a toy to your Thanksgiving gatherings then drop off at any location around town!
Donate directly to Toys for Tots! Preferably the Austin campaign so your donation will stay local and help kids in our area. Contact lauren.milner@dsisdtx.us for details. We are happy to help with the paperwork to ensure you get a receipt from the local coordinator for tax purposes.
