Weymouth Early Childhood Center
2025-2026
April 5, 2026
Good Morning,
Safety during 2:15 dismissal:
Many of you noticed that the Weymouth Police Department visited our school on Wednesday afternoon. We continue to review our dismissal and parking procedures to ensure we are maintaining the safest and most efficient practices for all students and families.
As a reminder, please keep the following in mind during dismissal:
Please do not block or box in our neighbors on Academy Ave.
Do not park on the crosswalk on Academy Ave.
Do not park on the corner of the driveway, as our vans need clear access to enter and exit. Parking here can create a bottleneck.
The lower lot at Town Hall is not available for family parking; however, the upper lot may be used.
Please closely supervise your child and hold their hand when walking through parking lots or crossing the street.
Students should not climb the chain link fence.
Only families with a handicap placard may enter the WECC main lot. Once in the main lot, please wait for a staff member to remove the orange cones before exiting. We do not want cars moving as families are walking to their cars when in the parking lot.
Thank you for your attention and cooperation. The safety of our students and families remains our top priority.
College and Career Week at WECC!
This week, our PreK students participated in an exciting and engaging College and Career Week! Throughout the week, children traveled to different classrooms to explore a wide variety of careers and colleges through hands-on, center-based activities. Each experience was thoughtfully designed to spark curiosity, imagination, and early connections to the world beyond the classroom.
We are so grateful to our teachers for creating such a wonderfully creative and enriching experience. Their efforts made it possible for every child to actively participate, explore, and learn in meaningful ways.
Students had many enthusiastic conversations about what they might like to be when they grow up, and it was inspiring to hear their ideas and dreams! Some of the many places they “visited” included MIT, the Fashion Institute of Technology, Berry Construction Co., Magner's Auto Body Shop, Beauty School, Berklee School of Music, the Florist Shop, Aviator School, Gavin-Haskell Performing Arts School, Yale School of Paleontology, Tufts Dental School, the Agriculture Institute, Juilliard, Harvard Medical School, Johnson & Wales Culinary School, and Tufts Veterinary School.
It was truly a fun-filled week of exploration, creativity, and big dreams!

Backpack Connections
About this Series
The Backpack Connection Series was created by TACSEI to provide a way for teachers and parents/caregivers to work together to help young children develop social emotional skills and reduce challenging behavior.
Each Backpack Connection handout provides information that helps parents stay informed about what their child is learning at school and specific ideas on how to use the strategy or skill at home.
