The Lemon Crest ROAR
*Friday, December 12, 2025*
A Message from Principal Price
Dear Lemon Crest Families,
Important Safety Message:
Last week on Friday morning, December 5, at approximately 8:00 a.m., a vehicle struck an LUSD school bus on our campus and left the scene. Thankfully, no students were injured, but this is the second incident this year in which a driver hit a district bus and did not stop. We are urging all families to use extreme caution when driving through our parking lot and bus zones. Students may be walking in all areas of the campus during arrival and dismissal, and speeding or distracted driving puts them at serious risk. Please slow down, stay alert, and follow all posted traffic and bus safety guidelines. Our top priority is keeping every child safe, and we need everyone’s partnership to ensure a safe environment for all.
Positive Office Referrals
At Lemon Crest, we work hard to balance positive incentives with fair consequences so students learn that their words and actions, whether positive or challenging, are important opportunities for growth. We are continuing to encourage all students to show ROAR every day: Respect, On Task, Always Safe, and Responsible. Any staff member may recognize a student with a Positive Office Referral when they consistently demonstrate ROAR, go above and beyond expectations, or show noticeable improvement in their behavior. Students who earn a referral during the month of December will receive a special invitation to our Hot Cocoa Party with Principal Price on Friday, December 19 at 1pm! Parents and families, please keep encouraging your child(ren) to keep showing ROAR and keep trying to earn a Positive Office Referral! This will continue into the new year, too!
Feeding San Diego Survey
Please complete the following survey to help provide informaton to our Feeding San Diego partners, who bring us our free food distribution, AND be entered to win a $100 grocery store gift card! Survey will close on January 26!

Contacting Teachers & Principal Price
If you have a question or concern about your child, we encourage you to speak with your child's teacher first. Please note that during the instructional day, teachers and staff may not be able to respond to your message, email or call since they are busy doing what they do best: teaching! Your child's teacher will respond to you when they are able. Thank you for understanding!
Contacting Principal Price:
Email: jprice@lsusd.net
Call the Front Office: (619) 390-2527 - The front office staff will take a message, and Principal Price will call you when she is available
In-Person: Call the office so Mrs. Whitehurst or Ms. Madina can help us set up a meeting so I can dedicate time to you!
Many of your questions may be answered in our Lemon Crest Family Handbook A-Z . We ask that all families read this.
Please know that there is a 24-48 hour "grace period" in my response time. When I respond, call or meet with you, I need time to get informed in order to have possible answers to your questions. I am prioritizing getting to know our students so I can support their success and am often not readily available in the office. Thank you for your understanding and support.
Theme for the Year: Planting Possibility
This year, our school's theme is Planting Possibility, inspired by the children's book, Curious Garden, written by Peter Brown. Click the link below for a read-aloud of the book by Principal Price!
