Community, Connection & Eagle Pride Community, Connection & Eagle Pride

We had a BLAST at our Park Meet-Up! It was such a wonderful opportunity for our Edison community to gather, connect, and see one another before the school year begins. Thank you to everyone who joined us!

The Edison staff and I are so excited to welcome everyone to our Meet the Teacher / Curriculum Open House on Wednesday, August 26th! Please see the flyer below for specific times.

📚 Don’t forget to bring your child’s school supplies with you that evening!

I hope you had a wonderful weekend making memories with your families. We can’t wait to see our Eagles soon!

The State of Michigan is continuing to provide free breakfast and lunch for all students who want them. Although not required, we do ask that families complete the Education Benefit Form locatedHERE. By doing so you help ensure the school receives additional funding.

FIND YOUR CHILD’S BUS STOP ONLINE

Bus stop information will be available online for the 2026–2027 school year. You can access your child’s bus stop information by visiting www.fraser.k12.mi.us. Click on the TRANSPORTATION link.

Students will be assigned a route number in lieu of a bus number. The route number is located on the left side of the entry door. To ensure transportation, all students must be at their bus stop 10 minutes prior to the scheduled arrival time.

Please review with your child the bus rules found on the Transportation Department’s website.

Cell Phone Policy

As we prepare for the 2026-2027 school year, we want to share the student cell phone and personal device expectations in Fraser Public Schools.

In accordance with state law and Fraser Public Schools policy, students may not use personal wireless communication devices during the school day while on school grounds. This is consistent with our past practices at the elementary buildings.

What does this mean for elementary students?

Students may bring a device to school, but it must remain turned off, stored away, and out of sight during the school day. This includes cell phones, smartwatches and smart glasses, earbuds and headphones, personal tablets and any device that can text, call, access the internet, take photos or videos, send email, or provide entertainment.

Are there exceptions?

Yes. Exceptions may be made for medically necessary devices, school-issued devices, approved instructional use and IEP or 504 accommodations.

What happens if a student has a device out?

If a student has a device out during instructional time, they will be asked to put it away. If needed, staff may secure the device in a designated, secure location until the end of the school day.

Discipline will not be issued simply because a student has a device out. Consequences may be assigned if a student refuses to follow the expectation or repeatedly fails to comply with the policy. Our goal is to respond in a safe, reasonable, and consistent manner while helping students develop responsible technology habits.

How can families help?

We ask for your partnership as we make this transition. Before the school year begins, please talk with your student about keeping personal devices put away during the school day and the importance of following staff directions.

Thank you for your continued partnership and support as we work together to provide a focused, safe, and positive learning environment for every Fraser student.

Does your child have medical needs?

If your child has specific medical needs, please reach out to the main office prior to the start of school. In order to administer medication, consent forms must be completed. Consent forms for prescription medications must include dosage and frequency information signed by a physician. Medication, including inhalers, must be stored in the main office and not in backpacks or pockets. In addition, if your child has a medical plan, it will need to be updated for the 26-27 school year.

Parking Lot Safety

  • Please park ONLY in marked parking spaces. Do not create your own spaces as this limits safe accessibility.
  • You may not park or drop off students in the designated bus lane(s).
  • Please do not wait and watch your child; it causes back-ups for other parents.
  • Leaving a vehicle unattended in the drop off lane is not allowed.
  • Never leave young children or pets unattended in your vehicle.
  • Do not allow children to walk across the parking lot without an adult. Remember that no child is a match for a moving bus or car.
  • Parking in handicap spots without the proper handicap license plate/placard is not allowed.

Visitors at Edison

Visitors and volunteers must always check in at the main office. For security purposes, no one may enter our buildings through any other doors. Be prepared to show a picture ID when entering one of our schools.

If you are dropping off lunch or items, please leave it in the vestibule, and the student will be called down to pick up their items or they will be delivered.

All visitors and volunteers are required to sign in and out on the office iPad and wear a visitor’s badge while in our buildings.

Thank you for helping keep our school community safe!
