REPOSTING: We Need Your Help
I am reposting this from an earlier newsletter. Morning carline was going well for a while but we seem to have fallen back into old habits since returning from break.
We have a problem and need your help. More and more students are coming to school late. Even just a few minutes late causes the following problems:
Staff on carline duty are not able to get their day started because we still have a line of cars at 7:45 am.
Students feel rushed and it get's their day off to a rocky start when they have to walk into the classroom and morning meeting and instruction has already begun. Morning arrival time is a great time for students to get settled for the day, get breakfast, and visit with their friends and teachers. This gets taken away from them when they are late.
They miss the same thing every single day. This leads to gaps in instruction and learning.
What we need from you:
Please leave a few minutes earlier to avoid having your child rush in as the bell is ringing. Students may arrive as early as 7:15 am.
Staff is going to start coming in at 7:45 when the bell rings. If you drop your child off after 7:45 am, please park and walk them in as there will be no staff members out front to ensure they make it safely inside.
Middle School Information Night
Easley is hosting a middle school information session for our fourth and fifth-grade parents. You are invited to join us on Tuesday, February 17th, at 6:00 pm in the Easley media center. Come hear from current and former Easley parents with students currently in middle school. They will share information about the transition to middle school, highlight bright spots, and share challenges. There will also be time for you to ask questions.
