Welcome New School Counselors!
Kallie Strickland, 9th grade counselor
I am excited to take on the role as the 9th grade counselor this year at HTHS! I was raised in Trussville and graduated from HTHS in 2013. I graduated from UAB with my bachelor’s in psychology and a minor in human resources. I recently completed my masters of school counseling at Liberty University.
Outside of school, most of my days are spent at the ballpark with my three kids, who keep me busy! I love spending time with my family/friends and enjoy going on any kind of trip, especially to the lake.
I am looking forward to starting my career here at my alma mater, Go Huskies!
Peyton Drummond, 10th grade counselor
I am so excited to be here at HTHS!! I am from Dora, Alabama and graduated from Dora High School in 2017. I have a bachelor’s degree in communications (and minored in history just for fun!) from The University of North Alabama, and I also just graduated with my master’s in school counseling from UNA in May. I am always happy to talk about UNA if anyone is interested in going there!
I love to spend time with my family and close friends! I also love to go antiquing and getting to travel to historic landmarks, and anywhere else I can go! I also am a huge sports fan and enjoy spending the weekends watching them with my family.
I’m looking forward to getting to know everyone, becoming a part of the Husky family, and helping out as much as I can!

Check and cash payments will be accepted at the main office.
The 2025-26 Course Fee Sheet is located on the HTHS website via the following link: https://hths.tcsk12.us/students-and-families/finances-and-fees. Alex Spears, Senior ~ Sloss Metal Arts Summer Youth Apprenticeship
Senior Alex Spears just finished the Sloss Metal Arts Summer Youth Apprenticeship, he was 1 of 9 Birmingham high school students chosen for the program. This is a paid, 8 week program, employing high school students, aged 16-19, to work and study under professional artists for 30 hours per week.
Students are introduced to a variety of processes and techniques in an interactive, individualized environment. For their final projects, they submitted a professional proposal and spend the final 2 weeks executing their final sculptures. Their pieces were on display during an art reception open to the public at the conclusion of the summer program.
Alex loved the program and learned so much, he will carry all these new skills into his AP 3D portfolio he will work to complete this upcoming school year!
Details on his final sculpture:
Title: Droplets on Steel
Description: With this project I wanted to display the malleability by exhibiting the plates as a liquid or water material. I displayed this by adding puddle effects and adding blue wax to the outer finish. I also incorporated the design of the buckles into a puddle design.

Hard-Working Huskies Gain Real-World Experience Through Trade Training Internship
This summer, a group of driven HTHS students took an important step toward building their futures by participating in the Trade Training Internship/Co-op Partnership with Spartan Invest. While many of their peers enjoyed summer break, these Huskies were developing valuable hands-on experience in the real estate industry—specifically in turnkey real estate investment and property management.
Students William Bozeman, Kaysen Chandler, Brayden Cox, Talon Crowder, Austin Lewallen, and Jax Mock demonstrated commitment, professionalism, and a strong work ethic as they applied and expanded their trade skills in a real-world setting. Their participation not only gave them insight into a fast-growing industry but also helped them build a strong foundation for long-term career success.
We’re proud of these young professionals for seizing this opportunity to gain meaningful work experience and sharpen the skills that will give them a head start in the workforce. Several of these students will continue their journey with Spartan Invest through the HTHS Co-op program during the school year.
