Empowering Moments
From Superintendent Smith...
At Bennett Ranch Elementary, our 5th grade students brought history to life with their Wax Museum projects. Students researched key historical figures from around the world, created detailed displays, and dressed the part as they stationed themselves around the mezzanine. Classes, families, and visitors were able to “press the button” and hear students share important facts and stories about their historical figures. The level of knowledge and preparation was impressive and reflected true Wisdom through research, Self-Confidence through public speaking, and Integrity as students took pride in representing their figures accurately. It was a powerful example of learning coming alive.
At Falcon Elementary, our 4th grade students showcased their Science Fair projects, and as a former science teacher…WOW. These projects were outstanding and showcased some incredible talent and hard work. Students clearly explained their hypotheses, experiments, and conclusions while answering tough questions with confidence and reasoning. Their connections to scientific principles and their ability to justify conclusions showed strong Wisdom and Grit, and their presentations reflected growing Self-Confidence as young scientists. We are absolutely growing future researchers right here in the Falcon Zone.
We also celebrate the Falcon High School Girls Basketball team for an exciting playoff victory this past Saturday, defeating Pueblo County 53–43 and advancing to the Sweet Sixteen of the Colorado State Tournament. Their success reflects incredible Grit, teamwork through Networking, and Integrity in how they represent their school on and off the court. They will take on the Lutheran Lions this Wednesday; we wish the best of luck to our Falcons!
From history to science to athletics, these moments show how our students are learning, leading, and striving for excellence. Congratulations to our historical Bulls, young Hawk scientists, and soaring Falcons for helping make the Falcon Zone a place where students truly learn to Earn their WINGS.
