Does your child love to draw or create? Here’s their chance to have their artwork featured on our 2026–2027 Independence Elementary Yearbook! We invite all K–5 students to participate in our Yearbook Cover Contest by creating a colorful, creative design that represents our school motto, Love Much, Lead Well, Learn Together.

Encourage your child to let their imagination shine! Please review the attached flyer for contest guidelines and requirements. All entries are due Friday, October 30th, and should be submitted to your child’s homeroom teacher. A flyer with the attached information will be sent home with your child next week. We can’t wait to see our Patriots’ creativity!

Parents still need to order pictures? Our NEW Code Lookup Tool is now available. They can simply scan the QR code and follow the directions to access their child's picture ordering gallery. No need to contact Customer Service for an access code! *Student last name and Student ID number will be required for data security.*

THANKSGIVING FEASTS ARE COMING TO IDES!

We are so excited to welcome our Independence Elementary families to celebrate Thanksgiving with us! Our Thanksgiving Feasts will be held on two different days:

• K–2 Thanksgiving Feast: Thursday, November 6th

IMPORTANT RSVP INFORMATION

• Adults MUST bring a state-issued ID to enter the building.
• Each student may have a maximum of 2 adult guests due to space limitations.
• Adult meals are $6.00 each.
• Adult guests will pay on the day of the feast.
• Please bring the exact amount when you arrive.
• Adult guests will receive a ticket after payment, and tickets will be required for entry.

PLEASE NOTE: Registration will automatically close at the deadlines listed above. No reservations will be accepted after the deadline has passed.

We can't wait to gather around the table, share a meal, and celebrate the Thanksgiving season with our Patriot families!

We are excited to share once again that Toys for Happiness in Rock Hill is partnering with WRHI and other local organizations to help families who may be facing challenges in providing gifts for their children this holiday season.

🎁 About the Program: Toys for Happiness supports families with children 2 – 14 years of age. If you have any students over the age of 14 with exceptional needs, please reach out and we’ll be happy to explore options together.

NEW! Parents can now submit student absence excuses online. Please send an email to IDAbsenceDocumentation@rhmail.org. You may want to include your child's homeroom teacher on the email. In your email, be sure to include:

• Your child's name
• Date of absence
• Reason for absence
• A picture of the excuse
