Attention Students & Parents:

Just a reminder—every student must have a school ID. All IDs have been distributed.

  • If you didn’t get your ID, please stop by the Security window at Door 1 to check if it’s there.
  • If it’s not, you’ll need to scan the QR code at Door 1 to submit a request.
  • If you received an ID but it shows the wrong lunch period, bring the incorrect ID to the Security Office (Room B135) before school, between 7:30–8:30 AM, to have it corrected.

⚠️ Please note: IDs will not be printed during the school day this year. Printing is available before school only, from 7:30–8:30 AM.

Thank you for your cooperation!

Due to MHS building construction efforts, school days will be slightly different for the next couple of years. Our Board of Education has approved school-year calendars for 2026-2027 and 2027-2028 so we may all have an opportunity to do some advanced planning.

MHS Calendar Updates

In an effort to allow for construction at MHS to proceed as effectively as possible, the D120 School Board on Tuesday night adjusted the school year calendar for the next two years. The 2025-26 calendar will not change.

It allows for longer summers to work on building additions and improvements. Our staff will begin working immediately to address many more details to minimize the impact on students and families.

The full 2026-2027 and 2027-2028 calendars are ready for you to view and download today.

MHS Student Job Board Changes

In the past, MHS relied on third-party software for employers to post part-time and full-time job opportunities. We are excited to share that we have now transitioned to the Opportunity Board through SchooLinks. Since SchooLinks is already widely used by our students, this change creates a single, convenient hub for exploring college, career, and job opportunities.

If you are an employer and would like to post student job opportunities, please click here to download our how-to instructions, or scan the QR code for more information.

Student Accident Insurance Program

Your School chose to carry medical insurance for students injured in accidents on school premises. The School has also approved a medical and dental accident insurance plan worthy of your consideration to add to coverage purchased. This coverage will extend the hours your child is covered and also may cover your child during certain activities not covered in the school purchased plan. We urge you to consider the benefits described in this brochure.

Construction Update

We are making good progress on the classroom addition. We will install underground utilities, pour the concrete slab/floor and begin setting structural steel (roof and wall supports) over the next few weeks. The roof will be constructed after that work.

SchooLinks

Throughout the year, all Mundelein High School students will use Schoolinks for a variety of purposes such as career exploration, college investigations and career explorations. In the Schoolinks platform, students will create their 4 year course plan, register for school events (field trips, career explorations, college visits), and create a resume which incorporates the information they add to their profile, such as work experience, volunteer experiences, internships, and academic descriptors. A student’s post-secondary plan, test scores, and academic record can be reviewed in Schoolinks as well.

With a SchooLinks Guardian Account, parents / guardians are able to:

  • View the results of your student’s career interest, strength, and mindset assessments to learn more about their interests and what careers might be right for them;
  • Review past courses and future courses selected by your student for his/her four year plan;
  • See what colleges and careers your student has favorited and set as goals;
  • Check your personalized dashboard for upcoming events as well as important reminders and to-dos for your student;
  • Complete your own research on colleges, careers, and more to help you have informed conversations with your student;
  • Compare college costs and explore expected financial aid, scholarships, and out of pocket expenses;
  • Communicate with your student and his/her counselor.

August 26 and 28

All MHS students will take the reading and math STAR assessments this fall. The STAR assessment is a short test that provides teachers with personalized learning data for each student. The STAR assessments are designed to provide valuable insights into your student's proficiency in these subjects, helping us determine the support and enrichment required for their academic success. We will administer the STAR Math assessment on Tuesday, August 26th, and the STAR Reading assessment on Thursday, August 28th. We will follow a special schedule on both days, which includes a 45-minute testing window between the first and second periods.

By 1894, 23 more states had adopted the holiday, and on June 28, 1894, President Grover Cleveland signed a law making the first Monday in September of each year a national holiday."
