GREAT Week 1 MUSTANG BAND!!!

I am so excited about the progress made this past week! We are off to a great start and I want everyone to keep things moving at that pace for the rest of the season! We are starting DRILL and SHOW this week and you should all be able to access the drill for Act 1 and 2 via UDB now! I want to encourage you to ask questions about that program and finding dots until you really understand, that will help in the long run! This show is going to be AWESOME and I want nothing more than to see you all reach your amazing potential!

August 1-4

Monday, AUG 1 (Mvt. 1 should be memorized)

7 AM- 9:15 AM Marching Auditions/ Set Drill

Leadership plan to stay to clean/ reset bandhall until 10 AM

Tuesday, AUG 2

7 AM- noon

Wednesday, AUG 3

7 AM- noon

3 PM Battery call time for freshmen entrance pep rally 4 PM Freshmen Orientation 5:30 PM Meet the teacher (9-12)

7 PM ALL BAND students meet with instruments at Stadium (dressed in pep rally uniform: summer band shirt, shorts, TENNIS SHOES; GUARD: jersey, guard shorts, and tennis shoes)

PARENTS be on the lookout for information about Meet the Teacher for BAND specifically in the BAND APP!

Thursday, AUG 4

5-9 PM

Friday, AUG 5

7 AM- noon

WEEK 1 of School (Next week) *READ ALL for necessary adjustments

DUE to our current weather restrictions, we are going to add time to the morning A1 Classes to start at 7 AM. This is not listed on the calendar, but is a necessary adjustment based on the current forecast. Below is listed the adjusted schedule for Week 1 of School. We will adjust back to our "regular" schedule when the weather and GISD heat restrictions allow us to do so.

Monday, AUG 8

7AM A1 Band starts on turf (guard/ front ensemble will extend rehearsal after school 2:50- 3:20)

3:30- 5:30 PM Marching Rehearsal

Tuesday, AUG 9 (this rehearsal may start 30 minutes later dependent on weather; this will be posted via the Band APP/ possibly updated in next week's smore)

6:15 PM- 9:15 PM FIRST STADIUM REHEARSAL @ Williams Stadium

Students will need to have transportation to and from Williams stadium, please make sure to make these arrangements ahead of time. If you need help finding a ride, please utilize the Parent Band App. Students should wear their summer uniform and marching shoes and socks at this rehearsal. This helps get used to what those shoes feel like on the turf.

Wednesday, AUG 10

7 AM A1 Band starts on turf (guard/ front ensemble will extend rehearsal after school 2:50- 3:20)

THERE IS NO AFTER SCHOOL REHEARSAL

Thursday, AUG 11

3:30 PM- 5:30 PM Marching Rehearsal

Friday, AUG 12

7 AM A1 Band starts on turf (guard/ front ensemble will extend rehearsal after school 2:50- 3:20)* this early morning may be removed if weather allows Tuesday's rehearsal to start on time

3:30 PM- 6:30 PM Marching Rehearsal

Saturday, AUG 13

7:30 AM- 3 PM DRILL DAY/ Masterclasses

WEEK 2 School

AUG 15- 20

Schedule will be similar to previous week if weather continues to stay the same

Schedule will return to original schedule on the Band Calendar if weather allows

FALL BREAK

The band calendar has also been adjusted to give the students a break during a portion of this week. Please refer to the band calendar and make sure that you are clear for all band activities as fall break is at our busiest "In Season" of the year!

BAND FEES

At this time, all fees should be made through CHARMS. SKYWARD fees will need to be paid beginning in August. Please make sure that you have paid your first $300 toward your CHARMS account by the end of this month! If for some reason, you are behind with this balance, please get caught up by the end of July. If you are unable to do so, please contact Mrs. Taylor and the treasurer to set up a payment plan.
