A Message from the Principal, Dr. Martinez
Lobo Family,
November is always a special time at Langham Creek! As we head toward the Thanksgiving break, I want to take a moment to celebrate the incredible accomplishments and spirit of our Lobo community. From our outstanding performances in fine arts, the dedication of our student-athletes, and the leadership shown by our student organizations, it’s clear that Lobo Pride continues to shine across every corner of our campus.
As we enter a busy stretch of the semester — wrapping up fall activities, preparing for exams, and keeping our focus on strong academic performance — I encourage our students to stay engaged, ask for help when needed, and finish the semester strong. Please also remember that end-of-semester exam exemptions are just around the corner. Maintaining good attendance, behavior, and grades will be key to qualifying, so now is the time to stay consistent and focused. Parents, thank you for your continued partnership and support in helping our students reach their goals.
As we take time this month to reflect on what we’re thankful for, I’m especially grateful to lead a campus filled with such energy, compassion, and determination. Wishing everyone a restful and joyful Thanksgiving break surrounded by family and friends.
Go Lobos!

CFISD District Updates
What is CCMR?
College, Career, & Military Readiness (CCMR) equips students with the essential skills and knowledge needed for life beyond high school, whether they choose higher education, a career, or military service. Through a variety of resources, curriculum, and activities, CCMR ensures students are well-prepared for their next steps. Engaging in collegiate-level work during high school boosts their chances of college enrollment and degree attainment, leading to higher lifetime earnings. Additionally, earning college credits in high school can significantly reduce tuition costs, making higher education more accessible.
What does it mean to be College, Career, or Military Ready?
- College Ready: Graduates will not have to take remedial classes in college, thus saving time and money!
- Career Ready: Graduates have the essential skills to find, acquire, maintain, and grow within a career. They can also enroll in additional postsecondary training without the need for remediation.
- Military Ready: Graduates have committed to enlistment with the United States military. Proof of enlistment (DD Form 4) must be turned into the campus.
What are the benefits to students who are CCMR Ready?
Students with CCMR Ready status may...
- SAVE TIME & MONEY
Graduates will not have to take remedial classes in college! - FIND, ACQUIRE, MAINTAIN & GROW WITHIN A CAREER
Students have the essential skills to embark on a meaningful career after graduation. Career ready graduates can also enroll in additional postsecondary training without the need for remediation. - CHOOSE TO ENLIST IN THE MILITARY
Graduates are prepared if they choose to commit to enlistment with the United States military.

HAC and Grades
Take Advantage of Redo and Retest Opportunities
Each marking period, students have valuable opportunities to strengthen their understanding and improve their grades through redo and retest options. These opportunities are available in all three grading categories: Checking for Understanding, Relevant Application, and Summative Assessments.
Redo and retest opportunities are designed to support learning — not just to raise a grade, but to ensure mastery of key concepts and skills. When students take the time to review feedback, make corrections, and demonstrate growth, they build stronger academic habits and deeper understanding.
Students should check with their teachers for the specific process and deadlines for redos and retests in each class. Taking initiative and following through on these opportunities can make a meaningful difference in both learning and achievement.
State of Texas - End of Course (EOC)
In order to graduate from high school, the State of Texas requires students to pass five End of Course (EOC) exams: English I, English II, Algebra I, Biology, and U.S. History.
Students who have not yet met the passing standard on one or more of these tests will have another opportunity this December to meet this graduation requirement.
December EOC Testing Dates:
-
Tuesday, December 2: English I
-
Wednesday, December 3: English II
-
Thursday, December 4: Algebra I and U.S. History
-
Tuesday, December 9: Biology
Parents can view their child’s EOC results through Home Access to see which tests their student has passed and which they may need to retake. Specific information will be sent out to testers as we get closer to December.

Updates from the Counseling Office
Earning Credits in High School
In high school, seat time plays a critical role in ensuring students earn credit for their courses. Credit is awarded not only by successfully passing the class, but also by meeting the required attendance, or “seat time,” standards set by the state. Once students fall below the 90% seat time threshold, they risk losing credit regardless of their academic performance. Because this window has already passed, no schedule changes are permitted, emphasizing the importance of consistent attendance and engagement throughout the semester. Meeting seat time expectations ensures students remain on track for graduation.

* NEW* Cell Phones and Personal Communication Devices
A new Texas law (House Bill 1481) requires school districts to prohibit student use of all personal communication devices during the school day. Therefore, Cypress-Fairbanks ISD is updating its personal communication device policy.
For the 2025-2026 school year, the use of all personal communication devices is prohibited during the school day. Devices must be turned off and stored in the student’s personal bag or backpack at all times during the school day.
CFISD has created a Personal Communication Devices Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) to address some of the implications of this new policy. Please review the content of this FAQ with your student(s) prior to the start of the 2025-26 school year.
Safety Updates
To help us keep our school safe, please talk to your students about the following important expectations:
Student IDs: Students must wear their ID badges at all times while on campus. This is essential for us to know who is in the building. If a student arrives at school without their ID, they will need to purchase a temporary badge for $1.00, which will be added to their campus fees.
Clear Backpacks: All students must use clear backpacks. Purses or lunchboxes that are 6x9 inches or smaller are exempt and do not have to be clear.
No Hoods Inside: Students are not permitted to wear hoodies with the hoods up inside the school building. This rule helps our staff identify everyone on campus and ensure they belong here.
