A Message from our Administrator
Dear Parents,
Happy November! And just like that, our first quarter of the year is coming to an end!
Every month, teachers are invited to celebrate a student whom they think is going above and beyond with their studies. We want to congratulate our first two students of the month: Zaylee G and Neville N! With parent permission, a picture and the praise from the teacher is shared on our Facebook page. If you are on Facebook, please like and follow our page: Between the Lakes Virtual Academy
November is a great time to catch up or even get ahead in your classes so that the holidays are not so hectic! We do not assign new work for over holiday breaks, but we do encourage students to use that time to catch up if they are behind. The end of the semester is January 23, 2025.
All parents receive a progress report email from us on Monday morning each week. If you are NOT receiving these emails, please let us know immediately. Also, if you move, change phone numbers or email addresses, please let us know as soon as possible. Please make sure you are checking your email at least a few times a week; lots of important information is part of these emails, and we don't want you or your student to miss anything important!
Electives: if you signed up for an elective class that is being offered second semester, please note that per our new board policy, if you want to drop the course, you must let us know no later than one week after the start of the term, which is January 30 (or before, preferably). Thank you in advance for helping us with this!
All parents are invited to attend our first Parent Council Meeting of the year (days and times listed below).
May you and your families have a safe and happy Thanksgiving!

As the weather gets colder...
some families start to feel cooped up and want to explore without braving the weather (although this autumn has been a real treat)! Below are a variety of places to consider with lots of different options and offerings!
Located in De Pere, this beuatiful building is a host to a large variety of exhibits. If you have an aspiring marine biologist (or anyone who finds sharks fascinating), a child who loves a challenge (check out the Spy and Explore Your World exhibits-they seem pretty hands-on and interactive!) or want to learn more about what The Moon (and includes simulators to experience that trip and what the lack of gravity feels like), the Mulva Cultural Center may be a great place to visit for you and your family!
Visit the Show, Tropical, and Desert domes to explore the unique variety of habitats in our world.
A little more local for our KASD residents...the Treehouse Theater performs at a variety of locations and is offering The Lion King (kids version), Willy Wonka and also offer acting and voice classes.
From Ada Twist, Scientist to Edgar Allen Poe to Don't Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus, The Musical! The PAC offers so many opportunities for students to gain an appreciation for the arts.
This theater provides a unique experience as children get to witness other children their age as actors within a live performance. They are offering a variety of performances, ranging from The Tempest to Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer the Musical to Pete the Cat.
A Christmas Carol, Rodgers and Hammerstein's Cinderella, and for the younger ones, sensory-friendly Elephant and Piggy's "We Are In a Play" are all being performed this season.
The ECCT has a wide range of offerings including A Laura Ingalls Wilder Christmas, The True Story fo the Three Little Pigs, and Finding Nemo, Jr.
Located in Wausau, the CWCT is performing Seussical the Musical, Les Miserables (Student Edition), Into the Woods and more this season!
Dialogue with Children
It can become a habit to ask children yes and no questions. Help expand their vocabulary and ability to communicate with you by following a few easy steps!
