We hope you had a fun and fruitful Catholic Schools Week! We are so blessed by our Catholic school, our families, our students, and our faculty and staff. God is good!
Monday (2/2) is a make-up free dress day due to our snow day this past Monday. 1st-8th grades wear favorite team apparel and kindergarten celebrates 100th Day (see your K-Newsletter for more info)!
From our Counselors: Next week we are celebrating National School Counselors Week. We will have some different activities for staff and students to learn more about the role of a school counselor. Be sure to check out our Facebook page as we share a post each day next week.
Students will have the opportunity to stop by the Counseling office throughout the week and write in a guess for our Counting Jar Activity. The student closest to the correct number of candy in the jar will win that jar with a matching jar going to the staff member of their choice. (Please Note: candy will be school approved).

PARISH MISSION
Parish Mission: Learn how to enter into Lent this coming year with our Parish Mission, featuring Fr. Luke Doyle, on Sunday, February 1 & Monday, February 2 from 6:30 PM - 8:30 PM. There will be a talk, confession, and adoration. You won’t want to miss it!

EVENTS
Marriage Blessing: Married couples are invited to receive a special blessing at all Masses on February 7–8 as we celebrate the vocation of marriage.
Knights of Columbus Pancake Breakfast: The Knights of Columbus invite you to a Pancake Breakfast on Sunday, February 8, 2026, from 8:00–11:00 a.m. in the MPC. Enjoy good food and fellowship with family and friends — in-kind donations welcome.
Virtus Class: Do you plan to volunteer this year for field trips, classroom parties, CYO, SOR or Youth Ministry? Virtus Training will be held at Sacred Heart on February 19 from 6-9 pm in the Meeting Rooms. Virtus training is required for volunteers 16 years and older.
Quo Vadis: Save the date for Quo Vadis 2026. It will take place at the Embassy Suites in Olathe on April 19th at 5:30 PM. More details to come!
MINISTRY
Lenten Small Group Study: Starting this Lent, take a step toward something transformative. Beatitudes from the Heartland is a four-part, small-group, faith-sharing series offered as part of an archdiocesan initiative. Join a small group to discover how the Beatitudes shape the way we live our faith today—and how, together, we can renew our faith and the Church by uniting with the Sacred Heart of Jesus. Coalition for Life Prayer Vigil: Coalition Life is hosting a 9-day prayer vigil from 8:00am- 12:00pm, February 5-13 (12-4 PM Sunday February 8) in front of the Overland Park Planned Parenthood. Sign-up here.
Food Drive: Please show some LOVE for those in need during our Catholic Charities food drive on February 14th and 15th. This month's most needed items are: Diced tomatoes, boxed meals, canned fruit, baking items, and dry beans.
Divorce Ministry: Whether you are hurting from a recent divorce, or have healed and are ready for what is next, we are here for you. Join Called to Love Again Ministry for fellowship and formation on February 27th at 6 PM at Church of the Ascension in St. Luke’s Room. Contact: katie@thecall2love.com
YOUTH
Encounter Youth Rally: This isn’t just another church event—it’s a high-energy, four-hour rally designed for maximum spiritual impact event for Middle School and High School youth, and youth leaders. There will be a keynote speaker, Adoration, large group activities, and more! The rally is February 21st, 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM at Good Shepherd Catholic Church.

CYO Spring Sports: Registration is open for 3rd-8 graders for track and flag football. The games and practice will start in March with cost depending on the sport. To register and find more information go here.
SHOJ Rosary Ministry
St. Benedict Rosary Prayer Group will meet on the little playground at 3:06 each Wednesday to pray The Rosary (or at least part of it) for SHOJ school. All are welcome, even littles can come play while you pray. Please join us.
