MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL
CHS Community,
First, I want to say how proud and impressed I am with the punctuality and effort our students displayed this week during OST/EOC testing. Keep up the great work!
I also need to be very direct about an issue that occurred recently and the severe impact it could have on our students. Please understand that Chardon High School does NOT support the "senior assassin" game, senior pranks, or senior cut days.
Students must not possess anything that even remotely resembles a weapon (including water guns or toy weapons) in their cars, bookbags, or on their person. This applies not only on school property but at all school-sponsored events, including away games. Student behavior at any school-based event is subject to discipline according to the Student Code of Conduct.
I do not want to see a student's senior year, prom, graduation, or any end-of-the-year event jeopardized by a poor choice.
END OF COURSE (EOC)/OHIO STATE TEST (OST) TESTING
Next week, our students will be taking the Ohio State Tests (OST) for math, Math 8, Algebra I and Geometry.
We have incredibly high expectations for our students and know they are ready to perform their absolute best on these assessments! To help promote a positive and successful testing experience, please ensure your student comes to school prepared. A few simple things make a big difference:
Get a good night’s rest.
Eat a healthy breakfast in the morning.
Bring a fully charged Chromebook.
Morning Logistics: We will follow our normal drop-off procedures in the morning. However, upon arrival, students should report directly to their assigned testing room. Math teachers will provided students with their specific room assignments.
Here is the testing breakdown by subject:
Math (Math 8, Algebra I & Geometry)
Parts I & II: Thursday, April 23 (EVEN)
Science (Science 8 & Biology)
Parts I & II: Tuesday, April 28 (ODD)
Social Studies (American History & American Government)
Parts I & II: Thursday, April 30 (EVEN)
Please note that the school will operate on a modified "Testing Schedule" on each of these dates. The decision was made to have a "block" schedule those days, consisting of four 51-minute periods instead of eight 23-minute periods.
Enjoy the weekend.

ROTARY STUDENT OF THE MONTH - WALTER SWEET
Mr. Patterson:
"Walter is the kind of student who understands that success isn't just about a high GPA—it’s about the impact you have on the people around you. And he certainly has made a positive impact on his peers. He is a leader who listens and a worker who leads by example, so it’s no wonder that everyone likes and respects him!"
