The STAR
June 11, 2021
“At Ruby Bridges we are committed to every student’s potential by teaching to the whole child and holding high expectations.”
Thank you Star Community
Our Life Skill for the month of June is gratitude, and how fitting is that?
As I reflect over the past year, Team Ruby is full of gratitude for many reasons...
- Our stars persevered though a unique and memorable school year.
- We all improved out tech skills.
- Our at home adults became teachers.
- Our kiddos returned to in person learning with smiles.
- We have completed this school year through teamwork.
- Our community partners showed so much love and support (PTA, AEF, All Good Living, and many more).
There are so many things to be grateful for, so have a blast this summer! Our Stars deserve lots of outdoor fun, play dates, cold treats, bedtime stories, and of course, reading, math, and STEAM innovation. Make sure to visit the library and write letters to your loved ones across the world! Practice the 4Be's and use your Tools!
The RB office will close on June 22 and reopen August 4 for RB families. There will be a guest office team to support summer school only (July 6-July 30th).

Congratulations to our Kindergarteners moving to first grade. This is a huge milestone and you have worked hard learning how to read and write. Ruby Bridges is so proud of you, enjoy your special day and celebration!
Congratulations to our Fifth Grade Stars! You did it, and you finished this year with smiles, jokes, fun card tricks, online learning, and memorable times being with your peers. Remember the laughs and stay in contact with your fifth grade buddies. Use your tools and remember the 4Be's.
I am a Ruby Star, You are a Ruby Star, We are Ruby Stars

Family Connection Meetings- Minimum Days 8/16/21- 8/27/21
We are excited to have our students return in the fall and we are planning for a safe return for all students. We also realize school will be "new" in the fall and want all students/families to return feeling welcome, safe, and ready to learn. In planning for this, we will start 21/22 with Family Connection Meetings. Similar to last year's equitable start, we will begin the first two weeks of school with minimum days (in person). This will allow teachers to connect and build relationships with families and students, and it will also allow you to share what you know best about your student in meeting goals for the year. During these first two weeks, instruction will begin at 8:20 and end at 11:40 am for grades 1st-5th. Kindergarten and TK will also be on a modified schedule which will also be posted on our website and communicated by teachers. Make sure to plan for childcare, including Camp EDMO or WCDC, as options.
In closing this chapter and opening another, there is much to plan for and we will be working to keep you informed. Make sure to check Parent Square and our school website for updates and planning! Have a great summer!
