Homeroom Heart of Gratitude Activity ❤️

This week during homeroom, students participated in a meaningful Heart of Gratitude activity designed to spread kindness and appreciation throughout our school community.

Students were given time to write a heartfelt message to another student or a staff member who has made a positive impact on them. On one side of a paper heart, students wrote who the message was for, and on the other side, they shared their words of thanks and appreciation.

Throughout the week, these hearts were delivered to students and staff members. We are proud of our students for taking the time to recognize others and share thoughtful words. Small acts of gratitude can make a big difference, and this activity was a wonderful reminder of the caring community we have here at our school.

Sasquatch Week is Coming! 🐾

Get ready for a week full of fun, friendly competition, and school spirit during our upcoming Sasquatch Week! We have exciting activities planned for students each day, and we can’t wait to celebrate together.

🔎 Find Sassy the Sasquatch

Each day, two Sassy cut-outs will be hidden around the school. Students who find one can return it to Mr. Griffith’s room to win a prize!
Be sure to keep your eyes open—Sassy could be anywhere!

💻 Hour-Long Excel Sessions (Monday–Thursday)

Our staff has created engaging and interactive Excel sessions designed to be both fun and skill-building. Students will have the opportunity to participate in these hour-long sessions throughout the week. It’s a great way to learn something new while having a blast!

🎉 Friday Celebration

We’ll wrap up Sasquatch Week with a big celebration on Friday, similar to our End-of-the-Year Yearbook Celebration. STUCO has planned a wide variety of activities so students can choose what interests them most, including:

  • Open Gym

  • Hot Chocolate Bar

  • Snack Shack

  • Crafts

  • Video Games

  • Minute to Win It Games

  • Yard Games

  • Dance Party

There will truly be something for everyone!

📱 Phone Free February – Current Standings Update!

In conjunction with OASD and the “Look Up, Oshkosh! The SMART Social Project,” February has brought an exciting initiative to Oshkosh North led by our Spartan PRIDE Student Committee — Phone Free February!

This friendly competition encourages students to limit cell phone use during the school day and focus on learning, responsibility, and living the Spartan Way.

Rather than simply counting referrals, this challenge is all about growth and improvement. Each grade level is working to reduce its number of cell phone referrals compared to January. The winner will be the grade that shows the greatest percentage decrease from January to February.

🏆 Current Standings

🥇 1st Place: 10th Grade
🥈 2nd Place (Tie): 11th Grade & 12th Grade
🏅 4th Place: 9th Grade

The competition is close, and there is still time for shifts in the rankings!

⏱️ Electronic Hall Pass Update

Starting Monday, electronic hall passes will move to a 5-minute duration instead of 10 minutes.

We’re making this adjustment to help keep things moving and ensure that more students have the opportunity to use the restroom or visit the Snack Shack during class time. By shortening the pass time, we can better accommodate everyone’s needs throughout the day.

Students are encouraged to plan for a quicker turnaround so their peers can have a chance to use their pass as well. Being mindful of time helps keep things fair and running smoothly for everyone.

Thank you for your cooperation and for continuing to demonstrate responsibility throughout the school day!

North/West Basketball Doubleheader and Mental Health Awareness Night

Please mark your calendars for an extra special event on the court!

The upcoming North/West Basketball Doubleheader on Friday, February 20th, hosted at North, will serve as our official Mental Health Awareness night.

In addition to the excitement of the rivalry games, we will be celebrating the many incredible initiatives our community has launched to support mental health. We are proud to use this platform to highlight these vital resources and show our collective support for student and community well-being.

Stay tuned for more details regarding specific activities and resources in the coming weeks. We look forward to seeing the stands filled with support for both our athletes and this important cause.

📣 Message from the Booster Club

Concession Stand Volunteers Needed
The Oshkosh North Booster Club is looking for parent and student volunteers to help staff the concession stand at upcoming events. The Booster Club plays a vital role in supporting Oshkosh North athletics and activities by helping fund equipment, uniforms, team needs, and special opportunities for our students. The concession stand is one of the biggest ways they make that support possible, and they can’t do it without volunteers. Parents are encouraged to help, and students are also welcome to volunteer. Please consider signing up to support our Spartan community at the link below. If your student participates in a sport, please add their sport after your name when signing up.

OSHKOSH NORTH PRESENTS: HADESTOWN: TEEN EDITION

Families are invited to attend Oshkosh North High School’s winter musical, Hadestown: Teen Edition, presented February 12, 13, 14, and 15 at The Grand.

Hadestown follows two intertwining love stories—that of young dreamers Orpheus and Eurydice, and immortal King Hades and Persephone—as audiences are taken on a journey to the underworld and back through a haunting retelling of a Greek tragedy. Inspired by classic American folk music and vintage New Orleans jazz, the musical explores powerful themes of industry versus nature, doubt versus faith, and fear versus love.

This intriguing and beautiful folk opera delivers a deeply resonant and hopeful theatrical experience and features the outstanding talents of Oshkosh North High School students. Don’t miss this special production as our students take the stage for their final musical at The Grand.

🎟 Tickets are available at The Grand Box Office or online.
