ELEMENTARY AND SECONDARY EDUCATION
October 1 Enrollment Report
Michelle Vargas, chief financial officer; Michelle VanDenTop, executive director of enrollment and information services; and Nick Herman, data integration manager, presented the School Board with the October 1 Enrollment Report.
The report showed K-12 enrollment at 36,051, a reduction of 367 students from the previous year and a continuation of a steady decline due mainly to lower birth rates, reduced kindergarten enrollments and increased choice for families. The report compares key data such as school specific enrollment, multi-lingual students and free and reduced populations across the district. Looking ahead, district enrollment is expected to remain level or slightly decrease, primarily shaped by declining county birth rates and family choice across Anoka-Hennepin Schools.
