KMS NEWSLETTER

Dear KMS Families,
Welcome back to a new and exciting school year at Kodiak Middle School!
The start of a school year always brings a wide range of emotions—enthusiasm, anticipation, and perhaps a few nerves as we embark on new academic adventures. Whether your student is entering middle school for the first time or returning for another year, we are thrilled to welcome them back to campus and can’t wait to see the incredible growth and learning that will happen throughout the year.
As we settle into the rhythm of the school year, we’d like to extend a personal invitation to our Open House on Thursday, September 12th, from 4:00 PM to 5:30 PM. This is a wonderful opportunity to visit the school, meet your child’s teachers, purchase some awesome Grizzly Gear, and see their learning environment. You’ll also have the chance to meet our new Assistant Principal, Judith Bruns, and get to know the dedicated staff working to support your child’s success.
Feel free to drop by anytime between 4:00 and 5:30 PM - we look forward to seeing you there!
Sincerely,
Rena Rankin, Principal
Judith Bruns, Assistant Principal

We will hike as a class up the backside of Pillar Mountain to the wind turbines, have lunch on the mountain, and then walk down the road and back to Kodiak Middle School. Wear your hiking books or walking shoes!
We are in need of parent chaperones to join us on this fun excursion to supervise kids and keep everyone safe and happy! Please email me at aotto02@kibsd.org if you are able to attend. We will need you to complete a background check and fill out the volunteer forms as soon as possible.
