Spanish students travel to Puerto Rico during Intersession II
During the February intersession break, 24 upper-level Spanish students traveled to Puerto Rico with their Davison High School Spanish teachers. Students were immersed in the Spanish language and the rich Puerto Rican culture and history.
The group toured a fort built by the Spanish in the 1500s, ziplined, did a walking tour of El Yunque National Forest, climbed a waterfall, kayaked on a bioluminescent bay, and snorkeled with sea turtles and dolphins.
"It was an amazing experience to watch the students try new foods, take risks and practice their Spanish in real life situations," said DHS Spanish Teacher Mrs. LIndsay Gokey.

House of Cards competes at first District tourney
The House of Cards competed at its first district competition last weekend at Kettering University. The team finished 29th out of 40 and ended up with five wins and seven losses, falling short of securing enough points to qualify for competition in the World Championships.
Team members have the opportunity to rectify that, though, if their robot, Maroon 4, performs well at the next district competition scheduled for March 22-23 at Troy Athens High School. If the team performs well at the district level, they will be able to advance to the state level and compete at Saginaw Valley State University, April 3-5. If the team does well at the state competition, they will be headed back to Houston, TX to compete at the world level.
Athletics
On Wednesday, the Lady Cardinals Varsity basketball team secured its spot to compete for the District Title. They will play Grand Blanc tonight, March 7, at Swartz Creek High School.
