Parsons Pirate Update
November 21st, 2025
Principal's Message
Dear Parsons Families,
Thank you to everyone who made our Food Fight a success! The team is still tallying the final points. However, we had a lot more gift cards than last year and plenty of food donations. Your generosity did not go unnoticed! This community truly is a wonder!
Sincerely,
Sarah Aherne
Turkey Trot
We need VOLUNTEERS to make our Turkey Trot a success! PLEASE sign up at this link for this awesome event!
What to Wear: Please make sure your child wears running shoes. Depending on the weather, make sure they have a coat, hat, and gloves.
Starting Line: We will be starting on Fryer in front of the church parking lot. Teachers will bring their classes out through the bus loop doors and meet in the street. Once in the street we will go over the rules and procedures.
Finish Line: This year the finish line will be on the black top and not in the bus loop. Boys and Girls will have a separate finish line. Boys will follow BLUE flags to their finish line and the Girls will follow Purple flags. The top THREE finishing Boys and Girls (per grade level) will be awarded a medal upon finishing the Turkey Trot.
Snacks/Water: Snacks and water will be provided at the finish line. There will be a table set up for the students to receive these items at the conclusion of their race.
Support/Help:
We currently have 3 volunteers on Golf Carts to help monitor the students along the route.
We have asked volunteers to stand around the community center to help motivate students and monitor students.
Teachers will also follow the route with their classes.
Lost and Found
Please have your child check the Lost and Found! All of the clothing in the lost in found will be donated at Winter Break.
Outdoor Recess
Outside recess occurs when the temperature and wind chill are 15 degrees or above. Your child's teacher will continue to message out about outdoor recess by grade level. It is a great time to label those winter items! We do want them to be able to play outside in appropriate gear!
Parsons Holiday Concert
Our concert will be on Wednesday December 10th starting at 6pm at Carlson High School. Lower elementary, Kindergarten through 2nd grade, will start at 6:00pm and upper elementary, 3rd through 5th grade, will start approximately at 7:15pm.
Please practice with your students using this link created by Mrs. Arndt!

School Safety
All doors are locked during the school day. If you come to school, you will be buzzed into the foyer area. You will be asked to show identification before your child is released. All visitors/volunteers in the building must report and sign in at the office. Visitors must wear a badge in the school building. All volunteers in the classroom and for field trips must have a background check on file each year. If you have a felony, you may not volunteer for WatchDogs, field trips, or volunteer in the classroom.
Parsons Spirit Wear
Last year we changed to a new company that allows families to order Parsons and Marauder spirt wear all year long! We have some new designs this year. Check them out at this link.
Student Medication and Medication Plans
If your child needs medication to be administered at school or requires a medical plan, please call the school secretary, Ms. Brittany, at 734-379-7050, and set up an appointment ASAP. In your call with her, she will reference paperwork that needs to be completed by your child’s physician. Parson's nursing services documents can be found AT THIS LINK.
Elementary School Handbook
Our school code of conduct serves as a foundational agreement and set of expectations for the entire school community, outlining acceptable and unacceptable behaviors, promoting a positive learning environment, and ensuring safety by defining the rights and responsibilities of students, parents, and staff. The District Elementary Code of Conduct can be found at this link. I have also attached the document below.
