July 17, 2025
Hello PCK Community,
As we approach the start of the 2025–26 school year, we are filled with excitement and anticipation. We can not wait to welcome you back for another remarkable year of learning, growth, and connection. I hope your summer break has been restful, rejuvenating, and filled with memorable moments.
This year, our school’s guiding theme is “One Team, One Dream.” It’s a powerful reminder of what we already know to be true at PCK: when we come together, united in purpose, aligned in our mission, and dedicated to our students there is no limit to what we can achieve.
This vision does not stop with our staff. It includes our incredible community of families. Your continued partnership, and unwavering support are the foundation of our success. Together, we create an environment where every student is seen, encouraged, and supported.
As we get ready to embark on this new school year, let’s carry this spirit of unity and shared purpose forward. We’re grateful to have you as part of our PCK community, and we look forward to all that we will accomplish together, as one team with one dream.
Warm regards,
Dr. Weyman
As many of you may have seen in our earlier communication this summer, PCK has transitioned to a new website platform. Development is continuing steadily, and we anticipate the site will be fully completed and ready for use by the start of the new school year.
If you haven’t already, we encourage you to view the walkthrough video which can be found below. This video highlights some of the new features designed to enhance your experience and make important information more accessible.
We’re looking forward to rolling out additional updates in the coming weeks that will further help us to connect with our community, helping all of our families quickly find the resources they need. We hope you enjoy exploring the new site and welcome any feedback as we continue to refine and improve it to better serve our school community.
If you haven’t already, please take a few minutes to complete our Express Check-In process. This is a required step for all K–8 families and must be completed separately for each child.
Please note that this year’s process has changed slightly from previous years. We strongly encourage all families to carefully read the updated instructions before starting. Reviewing this information in advance will help minimize any confusion along the way.
All families are expected to complete our Express Check-In before our Open House next month on Thursday, August 7. Please note that class fees for 1st–8th grade students have now been assessed through MySchoolBucks. Kindergarten class fees are not yet available and will be assessed at a later time.
You can access the instructions and begin the Express Check-In process through our website by clicking the button below.
As we prepare for the start of the 2025–26 school year, we encourage you to take a moment to review our updated Academic Calendar.
One significant change you’ll notice is the addition of a half day on the first Wednesday of each month, with the exclusion of January and May. These early release days are designated for enhanced teacher professional development.
Another update from last year’s calendar is the extended Thanksgiving break, which will now span the full week of November 24 through November 28.
This summer has brought some exciting staff changes to PCK. In keeping with our tradition, we dedicated ourselves to finding exceptional teachers and staff members who will enrich our school and serve our students with passion and excellence.
We’re overjoyed to introduce the newest members of our PCK family and are incredibly grateful that these outstanding individuals have chosen to make PCK their community.

We're Hiring Substitute Teachers for the Upcoming School Year!
Substitute teachers play a vital role in maintaining a high-quality learning experience for our students whenever classroom coverage is needed. This is a great opportunity for those seeking a flexible schedule and a meaningful way to give back to a school community you know and love. Whether you're a familiar face or new to PCK, we welcome your involvement in supporting our outstanding students and staff.
All substitute teachers will receive training from PCK staff and will be provided with detailed lesson plans for each assignment. New substitutes earn a $250 bonus after completing three substitute assignments!
Click the button below to view open substitute positions in both K–8 and Preschool.
Way to Go’s Schoolpool program is returning to PCK for the 2025–26 school year. Schoolpool helps connect nearby families to share school transportation through carpooling. It’s also a great way to meet neighbors or have backup ride options.
On July 15, families who signed up for the Way to Go Schoolpool program received an email from waytogo@drcog.org with a personalized map link showing nearby matches. If you’re interested in carpooling, simply reach out to those matches to see if they’d like to coordinate. Participation is entirely optional.
The SAC is thrilled to welcome all PCK families back for the 2025–26 school year!
Our role is to continue supporting the school in an advisory capacity by promoting accountability, sharing information, and creating meaningful opportunities for parents and community members to get involved in shaping and evaluating PCK’s instructional programs and continuous improvement efforts.
If you're interested in learning more about the SAC or getting involved, we invite you to join us for our first meeting of the year on Wednesday, September 10 at 8:15 a.m.
