A Message from the Principal
Dear Academy Families and Friends,
We had another great (short) week at Academy. On Monday, we hosted hero artist, Rob Surrette. The students were amazed and impressed with the talent and powerful message in his presentation! Students were talking about him all week. The Running Club had it's last big practice before the big race this Wednesday. To cap off the week, the Academy Ambassadors held their project committee meetings and hosted the monthly ROAR awards. It was amazing to see all of the students who were recognized for their school spirit and hard work at the assembly. They also recognized 4M for winning the Golden Paw and 1Y winning the Jr. Paw for the second month in a row-great job to both these two homerooms! Also be on the lookout for flyers from Coats for Kids, the Pajama Drive, and the Canned Food Drive. Our goal is to do even better than last year on all three projects to help those in need this season.
Coming this week, I would like to direct your attention to the Superintendent's Sense of Belonging Survey (see below). Please take a few moments to complete the survey as student belonging is one of our top priorities in every classroom and throughout the school. This week, we also have our Fall Parent/Teacher Conferences and the Book Fair at Academy! We hope to see every family attend. Your partnership with our school makes a huge difference...after all...it takes a village!
Thank you for all of your support as well as future support with our community service learning projects!
Mr. Patrick J. Higgins
Principal
PS-Don't forget-Thursday is an early dismissal day (11:50AM) due to Virtual conferences!
School Community Belonging Survey
As part of Weymouth Public Schools' strategic planning, we need your help in creating a shared vision for Inclusive Practices - one that truly reflects who we are as a district and what we value as a community. This vision will paint a clear picture of what inclusion looks and feels like in our schools: where every student, staff member, and family feels welcomed, respected, and supported. Together we will define what it means to belong in our district and ensure that every classroom and school reflects that commitment.
Your feedback here will help us understand how welcomed, respected, and supported everyone feels in our school community. Your responses are confidential and will guide us in our work. There are 7 questions estimated to take no more than 10 minutes.
