This flier will be regularly updated throughout the spring and summer as we finalize plans for the coming year. Please bookmark it and feel free to share the link with new families.

Here's the schedule for the evening:

• Please park in our main lot and enter via the main front doors.
• 5:30-5:45 - Check in will be in the main hallway. Students will be assigned to one of three color groups to spend time in a classroom with peers and teachers. Please let your child know that they will get to go to a classroom and play while you meet with the principal in the library.
  
• 5:45-6:30 - Kids in classrooms with staff. Parents in the Library for a general session from staff.
  
• 6:30 - Parents will be led to the Kindergarten classrooms where they can see the room, greet the teacher and pick up their children.
  
• 6:45-7:00 - Bus ride for students. Parents will exit the bus lane doors and load students onto a bus for a ride around the neighborhood. Cafeteria, gym and Music Room open for families to tour.
  
• 6:50-7:00 - Pick students up from the bus and say good bye.
  

• Friday, May 29, 5:30 pm-8:00pm - Bonny Slope Carnival, free to all families
• Kinder Camp 8/10 and 8/11 8:30-11:30am watch for sign up coming early summer.

Welcome Incoming Bonny Slope Families!

The first day of kindergarten is just around the corner and there are so many things to think about! As the School Nurse, I would appreciate knowing in advance of Kinder Academy or the first day of school if your child has any significant health conditions that may impact them during the school day. Please also let me know if you have any concerns for your child related to hearing or vision. Currently I oversee the health needs of multiple schools and am not on site everyday- so advanced notice is welcomed!

Health Plans

A Health Management Plan (HMP) may be necessary to help staff understand your child’s actual

and/or potential health needs. Plans are typically created for (but not limited to):

· Diabetes

· Cancer

· Anaphylaxis

· Spina Bifida

· Seizure Disorders

· Cerebral Palsy

Please contact me as soon as you can so that I can prepare a Health Management Plan (HMP) for

the upcoming school year, if warranted, for your child. Once created, a copy of the plan will be

available for you to review in ParentVUE. Please review it to verify the accuracy of the

information and contact me if any changes need to be made. Not all health conditions warrant an

individualized HMP, but all health conditions are noted in our computer system.

Medications

If your child requires medication at school, please complete the Medication Authorization

paperwork. This paperwork is available in the Bonny Slope Elementary front office. This form must be completed before we can administer ANY medication to your child at school. Please note that students are not allowed to transport medications to and from the school. We encourage parents to drop off medications prior to the first day of school to avoid long waits on that first day!

Emergency medications such as epinephrine, albuterol, glucagon, or midazolam should be provided to the school PRIOR to your student’s first day as it is identified as a treatment modality on the student’s Health Management Plan.

Immunizations

Please ensure your child is up-to-date on all required immunizations prior to school starting and provide appropriate documentation to the office. Washington County requires that this information be tracked.
