It's never too early to get ready for school! 🍎
School Readiness Tip: Practice Asking for help!
Children often don't ask for help because they don't know the words, or they confuse "asking for help" with "giving up." Break the habit down into three distinct steps:
- For physical tasks: "My jacket is stuck. Can you please help me unzip it?"
- For academic tasks: "I don't understand what to do next. Can you show me?"
- For social conflicts: "He took my toy and won't give it back. Can you help us?
Ultimately, school readiness is less about your child knowing their ABCs and more about their emotional confidence to say, "I need help," ensuring they can navigate a brand-new classroom environment with independence and resilience.
