Dear Winchester Avenue Elementary School Community,
We want to share an important update regarding our school structure and student transitions for the upcoming school year.
Berkeley County Schools is working to ensure all students attend their home-zoned school to better serve our communities and maintain balanced enrollment across the district. As part of this effort, our third-grade program will be transitioning from Winchester Avenue Elementary to Orchard View Intermediate School (OVI) beginning August 2025. All current second and third grade students will be attending OVI for the 25/26 school year.
We understand that transitions can be challenging, and we are committed to making this process as smooth and positive as possible for all students and families. We truly value the time your child has spent at Winchester Avenue and appreciate the relationships built with teachers, staff, and classmates. While this change means saying goodbye to one school family, it also presents new opportunities for growth, learning, and success in another supportive environment.
More details about these transitions will be shared in the coming months, including visiting Orchard View Intermediate later this school year. In the meantime, if you have any questions or need support, please do not hesitate to reach out. Thank you for your continued support as we work together to provide the best educational experience for all students.
Best Regards!
Charity Ballard
