Student work π
Ms. Lynch was inspired to introduce Mythology as an elective due to her interest in the stories and that fact that all stories have a purpose. Mythology connects to other subjects in the curriculum because it introduces a different part of history and you learn about the past. Ms. Lynch makes Mythology relevant to students lives today by doing comparisons to present day scenarios. She states "teaching Mythology helps promote critical thinking and that even though people are different, stories are made to learn from." She also said she faced some challenges trying to convince the school to add the class to the curriculum. Ms. Lynch hopes that students take away that storytelling is important and that every culture is connected to other stories from this class.
