Celebrating Our First Two Months
What a wonderful start to the school year! We’re proud of the learning, friendships, and growth our K–2 students have shared during these first two months. Thank you for partnering with us and helping make English Village such a welcoming community.
Welcome, November!
We’re excited to begin November together. As the days get cooler, we’ll keep learning, growing, and making special memories at school.

SIP (School Improvement Plan) Information:
We are writing with an update on our SIT (School Improvement Team). Our District utilizes the 4DX framework from Franklin Covey (company that brings us Leader in Me) to help us organize and implement our School Improvement Plan (SIP). 4DX stands for the 4 Dimensions of Execution.
This year we are focusing on Dimensions 3 and 4. These two Dimensions support us in holding ourselves accountable in tracking our progress towards achieving our SIP goals. Please consider researching 4DX to learn more....
Dimension 3: Keep a Compelling Scoreboard. Make progress visible with a simple chart that shows whether you're winning. People play differently when they can see the score.
Dimension 4: Create a Cadence of Accountability. Hold a short weekly meeting, usually 20–30 minutes. Each person reports on last week's commitments, reviews the scoreboard, and commits to one or two specific actions for the coming week.

Little Bears are Being Proactive!
This week we hosted our first Beary Good Kid Assembly. Our EV Cub Council students hosted the assembly, we sang the Leader in Me song and students received awards. Congrats to our students who exhibit this habit to take initiative, make good choices, and take responsibility for our actions.

Community Schools Literacy Goal Encourages Reading At Home!
Coming home this week is a take home activity about academic discourse. Please work on with your child and return to school with a prize. Thank you for helping the Community Schools Team complete their goals.
Reading logs will be sent home at the beginning of each month. Students are encouraged to read at home and keep track of their reading on their log. Once the log is completed, return it to school to earn a special prize! Keep reading, Bears—every book counts!

Bear in the Chair Celebration
This week we had our first EV Bear in the Chair Celebration. To promote being at school and on time we called a random number this morning. This number aligned with students classroom number and if they were present at school they recieved a pizza themed prize. Great job little bears for being in their chair at school, on time today! Every day at EV is a slice of success!
Paws & Connect
Let Us Introduce Ourselves!
Meet your English Village Community Schools Team!
Our Community Schools Site Coordinator, Stacey Remillard, and Parent Coordinator, Katy Cooper, have been proudly bringing the Community Schools Strategy to life at English Village for the past five years!
Not only are we dedicated to our EV Bears, but we are also proud parents of students in the Greece Central School District and members of this wonderful community!
Each week, through Paws & Connect, we'll share a little more about how the Community Schools Strategy supports our students, families, and school community.
We are BEARY proud to be a Community School! Together, we're building stronger connections and bridging the gap between school, home, and community—one paw at a time!
