- BMS Families - We are working with students to follow the PCS dress code. We need your help at home! Please see the full policy here Policy Code: 4316 Student Dress Code, but you can also focus on these bullets below.
All students must adhere to the following standards.
1. Students may not wear sagging pants or pants worn below the hipbone.
2. Shirts and tops must be long enough to meet the waistband of pants, shorts or skirts at all times. No midriffs, cleavage or underwear shall be visible at any time. See-through clothing is prohibited.
3. Students may not wear sleeveless shirts, tops or dresses that do not cover the top of the shoulder (i.e. tank tops, spaghetti straps, halter tops, tube tops, strapless tops, etc.).
4. Excessively short or tight garments are prohibited. Skirts and shorts may not be shorter than mid-thigh length.
5. Head coverings are prohibited inside school buildings.
6. Adornments that could reasonably be perceived as or used as a weapon, such as chains or spikes, are prohibited.
7. Students may not wear attire with messages or illustrations that are lewd, indecent or vulgar or that advertise any product or service not permitted by law to minors.
Pender County Schools are transitioning over to OSP. OSP is Online School Payments and will be the Web Store for BMS. The only 2 payment methods at Burgaw Middle School will be cash and online payments. Parents or family members will need to create a login and add their student. This will be good as long as the student is in attendance at PCS. When creating an account, you will need the student ID number. Here is the link for the parents/family members:
- Families - please find our PCS 24 - 25 Opt-Out Notification Form here
- Please review Policy Code: 4318 Use of Personal Electronic Devices with your child/children/family. This policy covers acceptable use and consequences for using them on any school campus.
- Parents/Guardians - If you have not signed up to connect with your child's teacher via Rooms (PCS Parent/Teacher Communication app), or are having trouble access Rooms, please use this guide for more information QR Parent/Guardian Rooms Guide.
Families, we need your help ensuring students bring their Chromebooks to school each day. Also, we ask that non-essential electronics (Airpods and Beats headphones) be left at home. If your child has a lost or damaged Chromebook fee, please pay that fee as soon as possible.
