Springdale Family,

During the September 14, 2021, regularly scheduled meeting, the Springdale School Board voted to allow the temporary face covering policy for grades K-7 to expire. Beginning September 15, 2021, face coverings are optional for all students and staff.

The school board encourages daily school engagement while practicing healthy hygiene habits. It is important that we model respectfulness for our students, colleagues, and community during these challenging times. Our Springdale Family is a great example of individuals coming together to serve the children and families of our community at the highest level.

I am thankful to our teachers who continually find creative ways to engage students in learning and find avenues to celebrate their successes. I believe our schools are the heartbeat of the community due to our amazing district staff. You create a safe, loving, and inclusive environment for our children. You are role models who teach more than the academic standards. Your students will always remember you and remember your care for them. This is a responsibility like no other.

We need to continue to be diligent in protecting students so they can stay connected to their learning. Thankfully, our district has experienced low COVID student positivity numbers K-12, and we want to minimize quarantines to the best of our ability. It is important to welcome protections such as hand sanitizing, continued face coverings, vaccinations, and appropriate social distancing. To date, we believe our district staff is 85% to 90% vaccinated. We hope these numbers increase and that vaccines will soon become available for all ages.

Thank you all for your significant contributions to the Springdale Family!

Familia Springdale,
