A Note from Mr. Steven Will, Interim Principal
Dear Hardy Families,
This week brings an exciting update for our school community as we welcome Mr. Jason Soileau as Hardy’s new principal. I know many of you have already received his introductory message, and I’m looking forward to supporting a smooth transition as he prepares to join Hardy on November 2.
In the meantime, thank you for continuing to support our students, staff, and one another during this period of transition. Hardy is a special community, and it has been a privilege to be part of it.
Looking ahead, we also have Red Ribbon Week and our Halloween celebration coming up next week, so please watch for the daily spirit themes and costume guidelines below.
Go Hardy! 🦉

School Updates
🦉 Welcome, Mr. Jason Soileau — Hardy’s New Principal
Hardy’s new principal, Mr. Jason Soileau, officially joins us on Monday, November 2!
Mr. Soileau (pronounced like "swallow") brings more than 32 years of experience as a teacher, assistant principal, and principal. He most recently served as Principal of Enrique S. Camarena Elementary School in Chula Vista and brings a strong focus on student achievement, inclusive school communities, and building relationships with families and staff.
Hardy families should have received a message directly from Mr. Soileau on Monday, Oct. 19 introducing himself and sharing a little more about his background and approach to school leadership.
👉 Didn’t receive it? [Download Mr. Soileau’s welcome letter here.]
We look forward to welcoming him to Hardy on Nov 2 and will share opportunities for families to meet him as transition details are finalized.
❤️ Red Ribbon Week — Coming Next Week
Hardy will celebrate Red Ribbon Week (Mon Oct 26 - Fri Oct 30) with daily dress-up themes focused on making healthy, positive choices. Please see below for each day's theme so you can plan ahead.
🚗 Morning Drop-Off Reminder: Please Do Not Stop on Montezuma Road
For everyone’s safety, students may NOT be dropped off along Montezuma Road in the morning.
Cars stopping there create dangerous conditions for students and disrupt traffic as drivers try to merge back onto Montezuma. We’ve had reports of several close calls.
Please use Hardy’s designated drop-off area instead. Thank you for helping keep our students—and everyone traveling along Montezuma—safe.
