Butterfly Ridge School Store! Butterfly Ridge School Store!

Butterfly Ridge has collaborated with Custom Imprints to create a school store! The sale will end September 12th. Custom Imprints will then process all orders to be sent out. If you choose the "Pick Up" option for shipping it will be free. When orders are completed BRES will pick up all orders that used this option and put them in students backpacks to take home.

We hope this store is something you enjoy. We plan to open the store again for a holiday sale. As always we embrace feedback if you have types of clothing or designs you'd be interested in seeing for future stores.

Butterfly Ridge Elementary

Online ordering for Butterfly Ridge Elementary ends on Fri, Sep 12, 2025 (11:59 PM EDT)

FREE School Supplies for ALL Students FREE School Supplies for ALL Students

The videos above were shared in early July. We have received a few calls asking about school supplies and we want to make sure the message was clear. BRES has purchased school supply packets for ALL students! If you have already purchased supplies and would like to keep them, you can still send them to school with your student to use. In the past we've had families ask how they can contribute to our school in terms of school supplies. Items that are always in need in our building are...

  • Composition Books / Spiral Notebooks
  • Primary Composition Books
  • Colored Pencils
  • Markers
  • Crayons
  • Black Dry Erase Markers
  • Folders with pockets and prongs
  • Gallon Sized Ziplock Bags

Important Documents to Complete Before School Starts Important Documents to Complete Before School Starts

There are 3 links below that are very important. Please take time to complete these forms this week. Having this information before school starts is very important.

  • Transportation Form(REQUIRED) - This document helps us know how to get your student home safely to you. Having this complete before school starts allows us to organize this information and ensure your student is sent home the correct way.
  • Free and Reduced Meals Form(REQUIRED) - We always ask for 100% participation with this form. Please take time to complete this form as soon as possible.
  • Volunteer Training(Optional) - If you ever plan to come to our building to volunteer or want to help on a field trip you'll need to complete this training. The training does not process information quickly and is not done in our building. If you want to go on a field trip and complete this training within a week of that trip there is no guarantee your information will be updated in time and you will not be able to join the trip. Please consider completely this training as soon as possible so you won't be left in a stressful situation during the year trying to meet a deadline.

Free and Reduced Meals

Every year we ask for 100% participation with completing the Free and Reduced Meals form. This form is one of the biggest factors that supports funding for our building and our ability to serve your students. Please take time to complete this form and support our building. 100% completion rate is our goal with this form. If you have any questions or concerns please reach out so we can support you.

Volunteer Training

We Want Volunteers!

As a Community School it's important that we all work together. We are really focused this year on having more volunteers in our building. Please use the button above to access the FCPS Volunteer Page. If you were a volunteer last year, you will need to retake the training. The volunteer portal resets every school year. Even if you are not able to volunteer, but think you might want to go on a field trip with your student, you need to complete this training. In full transparency, the training process can take some time to complete. Waiting until the day before you'd like to come into the building for something will not be enough time to have you registered. Please consider taking the training now when there are no deadlines to meet. If you have any questions or issues with completing the training please give us a call and we'll do what we can to help.

Back to School Events Back to School Events

Open House

Open House is a new event this year. You'll be able to see your classroom before school starts and meet your teacher. Please note the specific times for your event. Staff are only working their specified hours.

  • PreK, Kindergarten, First Grade, and Second Grade - 3pm to 4pm
  • Third Grade, Fourth Grade, Fifth Grade - 4pm to 5pm

Parking for this event is going to be very difficult. If you are able to walk or bike to he event we strongly encourage it. If you can't park in our lot you can use the excess parking spaces at Sophie and Madigan's Playground.
