March Weekly Update ~ March 6, 2026
Ready, Set...Read!
March is reading month! Grab a book after dinner and sit down and read.
A note from Mr. Lee
This weekend we “spring forward” as daylight saving time begins and we move our clocks ahead one hour. While losing an hour of sleep can be tough, the extra daylight is always a welcome sign that spring is on the way. It also serves as a great reminder that this is the time of year when things begin to pick up speed in schools. The second half of the year always seems to move a little faster, and before we know it we are heading into our state testing season.
At Carter Middle School, we like to think of this time of year as when our students RISE up. Our RISE Days (see below schedule) are quickly approaching and will be an important opportunity for our students to demonstrate all the growth and learning they have accomplished this year.
These testing days include the PSAT and MSTEP assessments, and they give students a chance to show their progress in reading, writing, and mathematics. While these assessments provide important information for our school and district, they are also an opportunity for students to challenge themselves and take pride in their hard work.
At Carter, we will continue supporting students by reviewing key skills, building confidence, and creating a calm testing environment where every student has the opportunity to do their best.
Just like the time change reminds us that longer and brighter days are ahead, RISE Days remind us how far our students have come this year. We are excited to see our students step up, stay focused, and show what they know.
Thank you for your continued partnership and support as we help our students RISE to the occasion.
