Dr. Mary McLeod Bethune Family! Get Ready to Rise up to Achieve
Dear Dr. Mary McLeod Bethune Elementary School Family,
“In the end, the most important thing is to be true to yourself and those you love and work hard. I mean, work like there’s no tomorrow. Train. Strive. I mean, really train and cultivate your talent to the highest degree.” —Michael Jackson
As we are completing our PM1 state assessments and gathering data to see where our scholars are coming back we know that we must continue to provide the academic rigor in reading, math, science, and skills for learning & life. We must be intentional with making sure our scholars are focused, understanding the expectations, and working to grow. We're excited to be back to a new school year and our new intermediate transition as a historic B School. This year's theme is "Rise up to Achieve," and we're taking our educational journey & growth higher by being:
- Ready to Learn
- Ignore Distraction
- Stay in assigned area
- Engage in the assignment
We can't achieve this goal without the incredible support of our entire school family – parents, guardians, businesses, volunteers, and the community. Please make sure to connect to class dojo by contacting your child's teacher.
Please be patient with arrivals and dismissal as the car lines. Please stay in your car do not walk up to the door. Car tags & or student scan tags will be given to write student(s) name to be called or to scan for students to come out. Meet your walkers out at the bike rack or flagpole gate.
Here's how you can be a part of the success:
- Join us! Be an active participant in our School Advisory Council or volunteer at the school for at least 20 minutes a week.
- Stay informed! We'll continue to "Believe, Build, and Bloom" in a more strategic way, and you'll be kept informed about all aspects of our school.
Great news for our scholars!
Thanks to generous donations, every scholar will receive:
- A backpack of supplies for home use (homework)
- A parent-school communication agenda

McKinney-Vento Program Information
Homelessness
The McKinney-Vento Program (MVP), the District's Homeless Education Program consists of the Homeless Liaison, the Academic Support Specialist, and the MVP Case Managers who provide assistance to homeless children and youth, including unaccompanied homeless youth throughout the District in compliance with the McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance Act. The McKinney-Vento Act protects the educational rights of children and youth experiencing homelessness and seeks to remove barriers often experienced by students experiencing homelessness in enrolling, attending, and succeeding in school.
Who is Eligible for Services?
If, due to a loss of housing, you must live in a shelter, motel, vehicle, or campground, on the street, in abandoned buildings, or doubled-up with relatives or friends, then you are eligible to receive services provided under the McKinney-Vento Act.
Please complete the Housing Questionnaire below.
Unaccompanied youth experiencing homelessness are also eligible for services under the McKinney-Vento Act. Feel free to contact us if you have questions regarding McKinney-Vento Act services.
For assistance in this matter contact the school at (561) 882-7600. You can contact us by calling 561-350-0778. You may also email MVP at MVPhomeless@palmbeachschools.org.
