📝 This Week in 3rd Grade 🍎

Conference time is here! Keep an eye out from your student's teacher on available dates, times, and how to sign up for your conference. We look forward to meeting with you!

• Math- Students are finding the perimeter of a polygon when given all sides and finding the missing length of a polygon when given the perimeter.
• ELAR- Students are diving into poetry by discovering poetry elements, paraphrasing poems, and understanding the meaning and message behind a poem.
• Science- Students are describing and demonstrating different motions caused by forces and how they act upon and object such as swinging, spinning, rolling, and sliding.
• Social Studies- Students are researching historical figures and their contributions particularly Pierre-Charles L’Enfant.

We are thrilled to announce that children's book author Josh Funk (creator of Lady Pancake & Sir French Toast, How to Code a Sandcastle, and My Monstered-Up Family) is visiting our school library on the afternoon of October 26th! He will be sharing his hilarious stories, discussing his writing process, and inspiring our students to explore their own creativity.

Want a Personalized Copy? If you would like your child to have a personalized, signed copy of one of Josh Funk's books, you can pre-order through our local partner bookstore. Please use the link below to purchase your copy prior to the event, and he will sign it during his visit (deadline to order is September 30th)! You can also bring your own copies of any of his books to Mr. Cannon with the student's name attached and Josh will sign those as well!

Attendance Changes for 2026-2027

Doctor’s notes or other supporting documentation for an absence, may be submitted by completing the online Attendance Note Submission form and uploading your documentation within the form. Student's 8-digit ID numbers are required in order to complete the form, and may be found in Skyward Family Access. This process applies to both full-day and partial-day absences. Please note that a parent notification submitted through Skyward Family Access regarding a doctor's visit does not qualify as a doctor's note.
