Celebrating Public Schools Week!
We are proud to celebrate Public Schools Week, which takes place February 24-28, 2025. It gives us an opportunity to reflect on the critical role public education plays in shaping the future of our children, our community, and our nationβwhile expressing our appreciation for the teachers and staff who make it happen.
The people serving our schools work incredibly hard to ensure every student receives the academic, social, and emotional support they need to thrive. Their resilience, creativity, and compassion inspire us each day, and I know they inspire our students as well. We are extremely grateful for their contributions.
Here in Byron Public Schools, there are so many things to celebrate. Just looking through the weekly Buzz editions will show you all the great happenings in our schools and the great accomplishments of our students and staff. The Profile of a Graduate continues to be our North Star as the district works to help every student find their passion and succeed in life. This was very evident this week when I had a chance to sit down with Seniors and listen to their Life Plans and how Byron Public Schools has made a difference in the education and will continue to do so as they leave high school.
Public schools are strongest when they are supported by the communities they serve, and we are fortunate to have a community that cares deeply about education. The involvement of our parents and caregivers in their childrenβs learning makes a profound difference. Whether youβre helping with homework, attending parent-teacher conferences, or attending school events, your support is invaluable.
Letβs continue to partner to ensure our local schools remain strong, vibrant, and ready to serve generations to come. Once again, thank you for your support of the Byron Public Schools and public education.
Go Bears!

Byron Public Schools Superintendent Search
Community Involvement is Essential
One of the most crucial steps in this process is gathering input from the Byron community. Beginning February 3, a community survey will be available on the district website providing an opportunity for parents, staff, students, and community members to share their thoughts on the qualities and priorities they value in the next superintendent. The survey will remain open through February 24, with options to complete it online or via hard copy at the district office. CLICK HERE to access the community survey.
While this process will move efficiently, the school board remains fully committed to selecting the best candidate to lead Byron Public Schools into the future. We encourage all community members to stay engaged and provide their valuable input as we work to find the next leader for our district.
For more information and updates, please visit the district website.
Key Dates in the Selection Process:
February 3: Application window opens.
March 16: Application deadline.
February 3 - February 24: Community input survey available online and in hard copy at the district office.
