Dear CJHS Community,

Please thank your kiddos for me! They surprised me with posters and notes and digital creations for Principals day! I'm so thankful for them! We have the most amazing children here in Childress and it's truly an honor to be a part of their lives and see them grow!!

Teacher Appreciation Week 5/4 - 5/8

This week is Teacher Appreciation Week!!!
Thank you to all of you who have helped to plan a fun week for our teachers!!
Please thank a teacher!
Often times students or parents will tell me how much they love a teacher - or how thankful they are. I always ask, "have you shared that with the teacher?" Many times they haven't. Please tell them! Shoot an email, jot a note down, place a call - blast them on a positive facebook post! We can always use the positive posts!! Did you know that it takes FIVE positive interactions to overcome ONE negative? Think of the negative posts you've seen, conversations you've heard...now think of the ones bragging on educators. I get it. I'm a parent. Even I have been irrational when I feel my children haven't received a fair outcome. However, teachers are people - and I assure you - mine at CJHS are AMAZING PEOPLE! (Admit it - you know it takes a VERY special person to teach 11-14 year olds!)

UIL Day at the Park 5/8

The UIL Day at the Park has moved to Friday 5/8!
Should the weather turn bad - we will make do somehow!

Battle of the Classes 5/14

Our 7th grade students in Coach Slover’s Leadworthy classes have been working hard this year to give back to their community!
Please help our students meet their goal of raising $800 in their fundraiser for CASA. Donations are welcome and can be dropped off at the JH office!
Battle of the classes will be Thursday 5/14.

CJHS Academic and Athletic Awards Ceremony 5/14

5/14 at 6:00pm we will hold our 2nd annual combined Academic AND Athletic Awards ceremony.
All students who participated in a sport should attend
All students receiving academic awards will receive an invitation by Friday 5/8.
This was a very packed event last year and gives the kids an opportunity to get dressed up and be celebrated!

Incoming 7th graders (current 6th graders)

All incoming 7th graders in Texas must provide prove of the TDAP and Meningococcal immunizations prior to enrollment. It is encouraged that you provide those before this school year is over!
All 7th grade students entering athletics are are required to obtain a physical prior to participation. Again - this is encouraged prior to the school year ending! We will provide form to be filled out by your physician!
