Virtual Hangouts

If you're interested in bringing your class on a virtual field trip, check out Exploring By The Seat Of Your Pants (free registration required). The primary goal of this site is "to knockdown classroom walls and take students anywhere in the world, never having to leave their desks." The site connects students and teachers with guest speaker lessons and virtual field trips from around the globe.

After signing up, feel free to search through their April hangouts. There are many great science topics on there! If you would like to participate in a hangout, please let me know how I can support you.

Fake News Resources for Teachers and Students
Articles and videos about detecting fake news--this is a crucial part of our digital citizenship curriculum!

Back Up Your Computer!

Washington teachers, please remember to back up your computers as soon as possible, in preparation for your new devices.

We ask that you please complete the backup by May 19!

Files and folders that exist on your desktop computer and MacBook (Desktop, Downloads, Documents, Music, etc.) must be backed up before handing in your old devices.

We highly recommend you back-up to Google Drive, which has unlimited storage and can be accessed from any device.

If you have any questions, please contact Pat or me.

PARCC Resources

Here is a link to the doc that you can share with your students, so they can access important PARCC resources, like tutorials and practice tests. Testing begins on April 10.

If you are interested, check out this test preparation toolkit by Edmentum. It provides various test-taking tips and strategies for students.

Finally, if you were unable to attend one of the grade level PARCC sessions with me, please let me know, so we can work out a time to go over the tutorials and resources together.
