AACC Cohort Selection - 8th-grade parents
Attention eighth grade parents/guardians:
Chesapeake Science Point and Anne Arundel Community College (AACC) have a partnership for the Early College Access Program (ECAP), allowing students to take college courses while in high school. CSP also has a unique partnership where selected students work toward a college Associate Degree throughout high school, earning 60 college credits through AACC classes and AP credits.
Candidates for this very selective program are considered during the spring of students’ eighth grade year at CSP. Administrators, counselors, and teachers review student data and discuss individual student ability to complete college level and AP courses.
AACC requires a strict limit of 22 students for this program, making it extremely selective. The selection procedures will begin in February and student/parent contact will take place once the review process is completed in the spring.
Students and families do not need to request consideration for this program, all eighth-grade students will be reviewed and considered for the Associate Degree program.
Students who are not chosen for the selective Associate Degree program are still eligible to take individual AACC courses through the ECAP program. These opportunities are usually possible in students’ junior and senior years.

Winter Career Fair - December 11, 2025
Please see the details below,
CSP's 2025-26 Science Fair - December 13, 2025
Our Science Fair is underway and the students have some great projects that they are working on! As your students are working on their projects, here are a few things to keep in mind. The due date for the projects is on December 5th. Students who are hoping to go to the County Science EXPO must present at our school's Science Fair. The Science Fair is a voluntary event however some teachers are offering extra credit incentives for those that do attend. The Science Fair is going to be held at CSP MS/HS Gymnasium on December 13th. We are going to try to do something different this year, all projects will be displayed in the gym and we are allowing students to practice their presentations prior to judging. When judging does start, we ask that all parents clear the floor to give the students the ability to present without distractions. The other difference this year will be that the awards will be handed out during school hours instead of happening the day of the event. If you have any questions or concerns about the Science Fair, please reach out to your student's Science teacher.
Federal Parent-Pupil Survey - Open until January 30, 2026
Parents who are active military or who live or work on Federal Property in Maryland are
asked to complete this year’s Federal Impact Aid Survey. It opened on September 30, 2025.
You will be asked to verify your home address and identify if it is located on federal
property. You will also complete sections identifying if a family member is in the military
or works on federally owned property in Maryland. The survey should only take a couple
of minutes to complete and be assured, all data collected is kept completely confidential.
Why Complete This Survey
Anne Arundel County Public Schools, like many local school districts across the United
States, include within our boundaries parcels of land that are owned by the Federal
Government or that have been removed from the local tax rolls by the Federal Government.
Federal property is exempt from local property taxes. By submitting an application to the
Department of Education each January, AACPS receives approximately $2 million to assist
in educating all our students.
